7:50am - ImBillMcNeal is the winner of WCOOP Event #2!

ImBillMcNeal posted the small blind, and after wedlowjones posted the big blind, ImBillMcNeal came in raising to 100,000. wedlowjones called and discarded three, as did his opponent. wedlowjones led out with a 150,000 bet, but ImBillMcNeal raised it up to 550,000. wedlowjones typed in the chat box, "you got it gg and called all-in. In the showdown, wedlowjones showed 7h-8d-Qd-Qs-7s for two pair, queens and sevens, but ImBillMcNeal had 2c-As-Ah-6c-Ac three magical aces. ImBillMcNeal returned a "gg" in the chat, and it was over.

wedlowjones finished in a respectable second place for a cash prize of $25,395.20.

And the Event #2 Pot-Limit 5-Card Draw Champion is ImBillMcNeal! He will be awarded $34,201.60 for his patience and tenacity in earning the win, along with a coveted WCOOP bracelet.

Congratulations, and goodnight!

7:40am - wedlowjones takes a major hit

After a whole lot of back-and-forth, ImBillMcNeal and wedlowjones were about back where they started their heads-up match (2 million to 1 million) when this hand unfolded. ImBillMcNeal raised double the big blind to 80,000 and wedlowjones made the call. wedlowjones took three cards while ImBillMcNeal discarded one. wedlowjones led out for a small bet of 80,000 after the draw, which ImBillMcNeal popped to 280,000. wedlowjones called, only to see his opponent's king-high flush. The hand left wedlowjones with only 653,230 to ImBillMcNeal's 2,418,770.

7:24am - Heads-up play begins

Chip counts heading into heads-up play were:

ImBillMcNeal 2,058,770
wedlowjones 1,013,230

While ImBillMcNeal held a 2:1 chip lead over his opponent through a number of hands, wedlowjones finally got involved in a pot worth over 1 million chips and won it with trip sevens. When ImBillMcNeal mucked his hand, wedlowjones took the lead for the first time in heads-up action. But it wasn't long before ImBillMcNeal took it back.

Chips went back and forth, though talks of a deal did no such thing. wedlowjones had made it clear in previous chats that he/she was not interested, so the poker played on.

7:23am - Isidor3 eliminated in third place

Short-stack ninja Isidor3 was eliminated only moments ago after surviving a number of perilous situations throughout the tournament endgame. With just under 393,000 in chips, Isidor3 made it 80,000 to go from the small blind after wedlowjones folded the button. ImBillMcNeal min-raised to 160,000, and Isidor3 reraised all in for an additional 229,000. ImBillMcNeal made the call and drew two after Isidor3 took three. When the hands were turned up, Isidor3's pair of aces fell to ImBillMcNeal's trip fives, taking us to heads-up play. Isidor3 will take home $18,739.20 for the day's work.

7:46am - New level, new day for many of us

Level 28
Blinds 25,000/50,000, antes 5,000
Average chip count: 1,536,000
Players remaining: 2
First prize: $34,201.60
Second prize: $25,395.20

Chip counts:

ImBillMcNeal 2,502,770
wedlowjones 569,230

7:15am - Level 27, a short break, and no deal

In an online poker world where time has no meaning and hours are replaced by blind levels, we give you this info:

Level 27
Blinds 20,000/40,000, antes 4,000
Average chip count: 1,024,000
Remaining players: 3
First prize: Hasn't changed

And the chip counts are...

ImBillMcNeal 1,621,820
Isidor3 812,950
wedlowjones 637,230

7:03am - ImBillMcNeal back in dominating lead

With ImBillMcNeal holding a 2-1 chip lead on both his remaining opponents, surprisingly enough chat broke out of a potential deal shortly after Yamzit's elimination. Isidor3 and ImBillMcNeal were both interested in taking a look at chip-count chop numbers, but wedlowjones turned them down. wedlowjones typed, "nt not that much difference i'd rather play" so play continued with wedlowjones as the new short stack.

6:58am - Yamzit eliminated in fourth place

Whittled down to just over 245,000 in chips, Yamzit opened for a 90,000 raise and was immediately put to the test by the resurgent Isidor3, who reraised to 210,000. Yamzit decided it was time to take a stand and moved all in for 242,000, Isidor3 calling the 32,000 balance. Each player drew one card and Isidor3 turned up Queens and deuces, trumping Yamzit's sevens and fives. Isidor3's stack climbed to nearly 800,000 while Yamzit departed in 4th place, earning $14,848.000. Down to 3.

6:52am - Isidor3 stays strong, doubles twice

Isidor3 had seen that short stack continually get shorter, mostly at the expense of wedlowjones, who steadily climbed up over the million chip mark to give ImBillMcNeal a run for the top spot.

Finally, Isidor3 took a stand with an initial raise to Yamzit, who popped it up again. Isidor3 called and was all-in with that. Yamzit discarded one, and Isidor3 took two for the winning hand of trip tens over Yamzit's two pair, jacks and threes. Quicklly, Isidor3 saw another opportunity from the small blind when wedlowjones made the first raise. Isidor3 made it 210,000 to go, wedlowjones raised to 330,000, and Isidor3 called all-in. After Isidor3 took three cards and wedlowjones took only one, Isidor3 won with three aces to wedlowjones' two pair.

Isidor3 was ready to fight to the end.

6:40am - ImBillMcNeal still leading going into Level 26

Oh yeah, we're still here! So are the remaining four players. Here is some not-so-interesting, yet important information:

Level 26
Blinds 15,000/30,000, antes 3,000
Average chip count: 768,000
Players remaining: 4
First prize: Still $34,201.60

Our troopers, still in the game as dawn hits the Eastern U.S.:

ImBillMcNeal 1,427,820
Yamzit 770,172
wedlowjones 545,082
Isidor3 328,926

ImBillMcNeal, with close to 1.5 million, now boasts a chip stack more than twice as large as his closest competitor, Yamzit, who is hovering around the 700,000 mark. wedlowjones is hovering around the 500,000 spot, while Isidor3 continues to play excellent short-stack poker and sits on less than 350,000.

6:15am - nathalie111 eliminated in fifth place

After sitting at or near the chip lead for the last several hours, nathalie111 was just eliminated over the course of two hands, while ImBillMcNeal vaulted to the front of the pack.

ImBillMcNeal opened for a 40,000 raise from the button, nathalie111 reraised to 150,000, wedlowjones gave up the big blind and ImBillMcNeal called. Each player drew one card, and nathalie111 led out for a pot-sized bet of 330,000. ImBillMcNeal made the call and showed down Aces and Queens, revealing that nathalie111 was on a total bluff with only king-high. nathalie111 was down to 248,000 after the hand, while ImBillMcNeal increased his stack to more than 1.2 million.

Two hands later, nathalie111 opened for 80,000 from the cutoff, Yamzit popped it to 260,000 from the small blind and nathalie111 shoved for 286,694. Yamzit called and drew one card while nathalie111 drew two. At showdown, Yamzit revealed kings and nines while nathalie111 couldn't show more than ace high. Yamzit raked in the 603,000 pot and just like that, nathalie111 was gone. Not all is lost, though -- how about that $11,038.72 payday?

The downfall of nathalie111 was somewhat sudden, but there were bound to be some chip exchanges as the blinds and antes rise and players tire. ImBillMcNeal is now ahead of the four-pack with over 1.2 million in chips, though Yamzit is closing in on the 1 million mark.

5:55am - Break time before the start of Level 25

And a much-deserved one at that.

Level 25
Blinds 10,000/20,000, antes 2,000
Average chip count: 614,400
Players remaining: 5
First prize: Same as it always was

Chip counts:

ImBillMcNeal 919,820
nathalie111 792,694
Yamzit 615,478
Isidor3 426,926
wedlowjones 317,082

The chip lead has finally been turned over to ImBillMcNeal, who has scratched and clawed to get to it. nathalie111 is still strong in second place, but he/she is being challenged. As the blinds and antes continue to rise, everyone is being forced to move around with less-than-stellar hands. There should be some fireworks soon.

5:40am - Isidor3 slipped (off the internet) and nathalie111 climbed again

Much to his or her probable dismay, Isidor3 seemed to have some connection problems during a big hand with nathalie111 and lost a reasonable amount of chips. nathalie111 chipped back up to over 1 million, while Isidor3 slipped to less than 300,000.

It seems that as the hours have gone by and play has slowed, tensions rose a bit, as evidenced by some wordy chat lines. The disconnection of another player didn't help, though everyone seemed to be doing their best to be cordial. Most online players know the frustration of being disconnected at a critical point in a tournament.

5:35am - ImBillMcNeal doubled through chip leader nathalie111

For a while there, it looked like nothing could stop nathalie111, who was the runaway chip leader with 1.25 million. Not so fast, said ImBillMcNeal. With the action folded to him in the small blind, ImBillMcNeal made a minimum raise to 32,000, and nathalie 111 called from the big blind. ImBillMcNeal drew one while nathalie111 took two. ImBillMcNeal led out for 32,000, nathalie111 raised to 96,000 and ImBillMcNeal came over the top for the rest of his chips. nathalie111 made the call for an additional 204,000. nathalie111's As-Ad-3c-3d-2d was no match for ImBillMcNeal's tens full of jacks and he raked in the nearly 672,000 pot. nathalie111 slipped to 893,000.

5:25am - Blinds up, bloggers barely up

Level 24
Blinds 8,000/16,000, antes 2,000
Average chip count: 614,400
Players remaining: 5
First prize: Take a guess

5:10am - xoxol73 eliminated in sixth place

It didn't take long to see an elimination from the final table. xoxol73 had less than 100,000 in chips and needed to move. After an initial raise by Yamzit to 36,000, xoxol73 shoved all-in for 98,730 and was called by Yamzit. Both players took one card, and as xoxol73's Ts-Tc-Js-Jh-Ac was good for two pair, Yamzit showed a better two with 5c-Ad-As-5h-2h. nathalie111 typed, "gg," which was echoed by Yamzit and Isidor3, and xoxol73 took leave of the table in 6th place for $7,680.00 in prize money.

5:02am - And we have the final six!

PS Screen Shot.JPG

5:00am - The destruction of Khan, RaiNKhAN eliminated in seventh place

Unfortunately, Team PokerStars Pro's Hevad "RaiNKhAN" Khan was our final table bubble boy, busting out in 7th place just moments ago. He was crippled on a hand where Yamzit limped in from UTG and Khan made it 36,000 to go from the button. Isidor3 folded, ImBillMcNeal flat-called the additional 24,000 from the big blind, and Yamzit called as well. ImBillMcNeal and RaiNKhAN took three cards apiece while Yamzit took two. ImBillMcNeal led out for 84,000 after the draw, prompting a fold from Yamzit. Khan called, though and saw the bad news when his opponent turned up Aces full of tens. Our former chip leader was now down to only 89,000.

Only a few hands later he met his end, getting his remaining chips all in before the draw vs. the ever-resilient Isador3. Each player drew one card, and Khan's nines and fives fell to Isidor3's Aces and sixes, eliminating him from the tournament in 7th place.

4:40am - Level 23 ensues

Level 23
Blinds 6,000/12,000, antes 1,200
Average chip count: 438,857
Players remaining: 7
First prize: 34,201.60

nathalie111 1,295,945
ImBillMcNeal 531,910
Yamzit 360,948
wedlowjones 261,341
Isidor3 240,776
RaiNKhAN 216,350
xoxol73 164,730

4:30am - Hand-for-hand play sees nathalie111 hit the 1 million chip mark

With seven players left, virtual tension was high, and hand-for-hand play ensued, during which chip leader nathalie111 soared over 1 million in chips, well over two times that of her nearest opponent.

4:27am - Crispy86 creamed, finished in 8th place

Down to 69,000 in chips, Crispy86 made it 39,000 to go from second position, and wedlowjones set him all-in. Crispy86 made the call and drew three while wedlowjones drew two. In the end, it was a pair of kings creaming Crispy86's pair of eights, and he hit the rail, fittingly enough, in 8th place for a $4,096 payday.

4:23am - Isidor3 continues to build through RaiNKhAN

ImBillMcNeal opened for a raise to 20,000 from UTG, RaiNKhAN re-potted to 94,000, Isidor3 called all-in for 76,296, and ImBillMcNeal mucked his hand. Khan drew three while Isidor3 drew two and turned up trip kings, besting Khan's sevens and fours. Isidor3 got a another much-needed double-up and now sits around the 200,000 mark.

4:21am - Somehow, we are at Level 22

I think it might be because blinds and antes are increasing at regular intervals, but I can't swear by it.

Level 22
Blinds 5,000/10,000, antes 1,000
Average chip count: 384,000
Players remaining: 8
First prize: Same as every level before this one

nathalie111 still sits atop the leaderboard, far above his/her opponents, though RaiNKhAN is hanging on for the second spot. Creeping up in third place to make a run is xoxol73.

4:10am - Isidor3 takes some hits from Khan but strikes back...twice

RaiNKhAN had been pushing short-stacked Isidor3 closer and closer to the brink of elimination. It wasn't pretty, but finally, Isidor3 pushed back. With only 23,924 in chips, Isidor3 was all-in right away, and RaiNKhAN called. Both discarded three, and Isidor3 took the hand down with three nines against Khan's pair of aces. Two hands later, Khan raised it up again, but Isidor3 was all-in, called by his/her nemesis once more. After discarding three each, the showdown gave victory to Isidor3 with three aces against Khan's pair of nines.

Isidor3 decided enough was enough, and the hands cooperated to allow for another battle.

4:03am - lasker took the 9th place spot

Short-stacked lasker opened for 20,000 of his remaining 105,500 chips, and RaiNKhAN reraised to 50,000. That induced folds from Isidor3, ImBillMcNeal and Yamzit, leaving lasker to move all-in for an additional 55,000. Khan made the call and drew two while lasker drew one. Though lasker made aces and queens, Khan turned up the dominant trip deuces and raked in the 225,000 pot, eliminating lasker. The 9th place elimination for lasker was good for a $4,096.00 payout.

4:00am - dirty4b eliminated in 10th place, pay jump now in place

After xoxol73 open-raised to 24,000, dirty4b re-potted to 80,000, and xoxol73 put him all in for 30,000 more. His/her tournament life at risk, dirty4b made the call, and both players drew three cards. dirty4b emerged with a pair of jacks at showdown, no match for xoxol73's pair of aces, and he departed in 10th place. $1,843.20 should soothe the blow just a little.

With dirty4b's elimination, the remaining nine players have hit that significant pay jump. Each is now guaranteed at least $4,096 for their play today.

3:55am - wedlowjones doubles to get back to sixth place on the leaderboard

wedlowjones was having a roller coaster ride of a tournament and was near the bottom of the totem pole with 138,108 going into a critical hand. In the small blind, wedlowjones raised the pot to 24,000 only to be reraised to 76,000 by xoxol73. wedlowjones responded with an all-in push, and xoxol73 called 61,308 more. Both players discarded three, and xoxol73 showed Ts-7c-2d-Ks-Kd for a pair of Kings while wedlowjones turned over As-8c-Ac-4s-2s for the higher pair of aces. wedlowjones was saved and presumably glad to be out of immediate danger.

3:40am - cabezauro has been eliminated in 11th place

At Table 136, nearly every pot is raised and reraised pre-draw, and this one was no exception. dirty4b opened for 21,000 from UTG, cabezauro flat-called on the button, only to have xoxol73 put in the squeeze raise to 77,000 from the small blind. Once the big blind and dirty4b got out of the way, cabezauro moved all-in for an additional 55,000. xoxol73 quickly called and stood pat while cabezauro drew two. xoxol73's pat flush bested cabezauro's trip tens, and he hit the rail in 11th place, earning $1,843.20.

With ten players left, there is a big money jump looming. The 10th place finisher will receive $1,843.20 while the 9th place player will receive $4,096.00. A sizable difference might slow play a bit, but lasker is the only player under 100,000 in chips, and it remains to be seen what that short-stack can do with that position.

3:35am - Whose house? Khan's house!

If you're wondering how the Khan lives, which I'm sure that you are, PokerStars.tv has an interesting look at Hevad's home life, as it was during the WSOP this summer.

Watch WSOP: Hevad Khan's House (Part One) on PokerStars.tv

3:25am - Isidor3 draws the boat

RaiNKhAN opened for a pre-draw raise to 21,000 and got a caller in Isidor3 in the cutoff. Khan drew two cards while Isidor3 drew one, and Khan thought for some time before deciding to check. Isidor3 bet 28,000 and Khan went into the tank, using up a good portion of his time bank on the decision before making the call. Isidor3 turned over fours full of threes, and Khan mucked. Isidor3 is now closing in on the 300K mark after being down to only 30,000 about 90 minutes ago.

3:14am - And now for something different

An interesting level, if you are inclined to be interested by these sorts of things:

Level 20
Blinds 3,500/7,000, antes 700
Average chip count: 279,272
Players remaining: 11
First prize: I'm just not typing it again for awhile.

3:11am - Ogelthorpe eliminated in 12th place

Ogelthorpe hung on as long as he could to his short stack, ultimately electing to move that last 35,000 in over the top of Yamzit's opening raise to 21,000. Yamzit called the additional 14K and after drawing three each, Yamzit's two pair, kings and deuces, emerged as the winning hand over Ogelthorpe's pair of queens. Ogelthorpe will take home $1,843,20 for his finish.

3:10am - Clapi eliminated in 13th place

RaiNKhAN opened for a pre-draw raise to 15,000 from UTG, wedlowjones called right behind him, and Clapi moved his remaining 59,000 all in from the big blind. Khan elected to fold, but wedlowjones called and stood pat after Clapi drew three cards. Clapi made aces and fives, but they were no match for wedlowjones' pat queen-high straight. Clapi hit the virtual rail in 13th place and will take home a virtual check for $1,331,20 for his performance today.

3:05am - 2007 WCOOP champion ka$ino out in 14th place, courtesy of RaiNKhAN

After a roller-coaster couple of hours that took him to the brink of elimination and back to the top ten on the leaderboard again, 2007 WCOOP Main Event champion ka$ino has succumbed in 14th place. With 98,000 remaining and blinds and antes rising faster than U.S. petroleum, ka$ino raised to 16,000 pre-draw and RaiNKhAN popped it to 48,000 from the small blind. ka$ino four-bet all-in, and Khan called the additional 50,000. After drawing one card each, Khan emerged with aces and sixes, besting ka$ino's kings up and sending him to the rail in 14th place.

And Hevad Khan has launched himself back into fifth place and climbing.

2:55am - Jagz7 eliminated in 15th place

One of the shorter stacks, Jagz7 sat with 47,521 in the small blind. Yamzit got it started with a raise to 18,000, Jagz7 pushed it all-in for his last 46,921, and Yamzit called. Jagz7 discarded two to his opponent's three, and the cards were shown. Jagz7's hand was Qd-Kc-5c-Qs-Tc for a pair of queens, but Yamzit held the dominating hand with 5s-Ad-Ac-Ah-6c and trip aces. Yamzit took the large 102,842 pot, and Jagz7 took 15th place and the $1,331.20 corresponding prize.

It has been a solid month for Jagz7, who won the $200R on August 17th for over $46,000. And going back a bit further, this player placed second in the Sunday Second Chance tournament in January for $29,489. And who knows, there are many more events to be played in this WCOOP... Might want to keep an eye out for Jagz7!

2:50am - atlantic17 eliminated in 16th place

Down to 15,554 in chips and 6,000 of them posted in the big blind, atlantic17 called all-in behind a pre-draw raise from xoxol73 and a call from dirty4b. Each player drew three cards, and it was dirty4b's pair of queens that came out on top, eliminating atlantic17, who will enjoy (or not, we can't say for sure) a $1,331.20 payday for his/her finish.

2:40am - Weekend plans

With the weekend upon us, it's time to think about what to do. Hit the gym? Clean the garage? Watch bad cable TV movies?

C'mon... Challenge yourself. There are two brand spankin' new WCOOP tournaments starting tomorrow! The first will be the $215 Limit Hold'em starting at 2:30pm ET, and the second, for those with a specific poker taste, will be the $215 2-7 Triple Draw event beginning at 4:30pm ET.

If those don't suit you, there are many more events scheduled over the next 2 1/2 weeks. Take a gander at the schedule and mark your calendar!

2:37am - Hitting level 19

We have reached another milestone, errr, level.

Level 19
Blinds 3,000/6,000, antes 600
Average chip count: 192,000
Players remaining: 16
First prize: $34,201.60

Top ten chip counts:

nathalie111 436,768
ImBillMcNeal 331,102
xoxol73 323,078
wedlowjones 284,332
Yamzit 256,631
Crispy86 226,125
cabezauro 173,928
ka$ino 166,909
RaiNKhAN 164,339
Ogelthorpe 160,823

2:32am - MichaR711 eliminated in 17th place

The tournament's shortest remaining stack, MichaR711 just took a stand, opening for 10,000 from UTG and moving all in for 44,000 over the top of xoxol73's reraise to 20,000. MichaR711 drew two while xoxol73 stood pat...and for good reason. xoxol73 turned up sevens full of fives, toasting MichaR711's trip tens.

MichaR711 will soon find an extra $1,331.20 in his or her PokerStars account.

2:25am - ka$ino climbing as a little bit of RaiN falls

ka$ino has built his chip stack back up to the 170,000 mark after winning several key pots, beginning with a double-up through nathalie111. After ka$ino opened for 15,000 of his remaining 44,000, nathalie111 reraised to 30,000, ka$ino shipped in the rest and nathalie111 called. Each player drew one and ended up with two pair, ka$ino's queens and fours taking it down. That pot put him back at 96,000. ka$ino dipped into nathalie111's stack two more times in the next ten hands, taking one down on the draw without a showdown as well as besting her pair of queens with jacks and deuces in a subsequent hand.

As ka$ino approached the top ten of the remaining 17, RaiNKhAN fell a bit, sitting now in fifth place.

2:17am - pleazzzzzzz out in 18th, thank you

pleazzzzzzz opened for a pot-sized raise to 20,500 from second position and Jagz7 obliged, putting him all in for an additional 2,186. pleazzzzzzz made the call and drew three after Jagz7 took one. Though pleazzzzzzz improved to jacks and sixes, they were no match for Jagz7's aces and fives and pleazzzzzzz was eliminated, taking home $1,331,20 at the money jump for his/her performance.

Maybe that money can buy some more zzzz's.

Other recent bustouts included:

19th place: ELBRUS77 ($1,024.00)
20th place: psimalive ($1,024.00)
21st place: Pokerccini ($1,024.00)
22nd place: *BSC* ($1,024.00)

2:10am - 2007 WCOOP champion crippled

ka$ino has been crippled by wedlowjones. With more than 185,000 in his stack, ka$ino opened for 10,500 from UTG and faced a 36,000 reraise from wedlowjones in the small blind. ka$ino came over the top for 114,000 and wedlowjones almost instantly moved all-in for a total of 141,716. ka$ino called and drew three after wedlowjones drew two. ka$ino's pair of aces did not improve, and wedlowjones took down the 289,000 pot with trip kings, crippling ka$ino to only 38,000 in chips.

After sitting near the top of the chip counts for several levels, the 2007 WCOOP main event champion is down but not out. In the last few moments, ka$ino chipped back up to over 100,000 as he tries to recover.

2:00am - ELBRUS77 and Isidor3 stave off elimination

Short-stacked ELBRUS77 is stayin' alive. With less than 13,000 in chips, ELBRUS77's kings and deuces were good in an all-in situation against the aces of RaiNKhAN.

And talk about the right hand at the right time. Isidor3's tournament life was at stake after moving all-in for 31,000 over the top of Jagz7's 10,777 opening-raise. Jagz7 called and drew two while Isidor3 drew one. Jagz7 couldn't manage more than a pair of eights, but Isidor3 improved to fours full of aces and took down the 70,000 pot. Isidor3 has about half of average now and is unfortunately trapped in the land of big stacks, with ka$ino, Clapi, and chip leader nathalie111 all at his table.

1:45am - Onkel Bief ground in 23rd place, 22 remain at four tables

Onkel Bief was fourth in chips just a bit over an hour ago, and Bief just made his exit in 23rd place. Ground down to only 8,213 in chips, he moved all in from the button and got two callers in lasker and ImBillMcNeal. At showdown, ImBillMcNeal's pair of aces took it down, and Onkel Bief (would love to know the origin of that name) was eliminated, collecting $1,024.

Other recent eliminations:

24th place: loneloboGB-5 ($1,024.00)

1:35am - Danny "THE__D__RY" Ryan eliminated in 29th place

With 24,963 remaining in his stack and the action folded to him in the small blind, Danny Ryan raised to 10,500, Jagz7 reraised from the big blind, setting Ryan all-in and he made the call. Ryan drew three while Jagz7 took two, and at showdown, Ryan's pair of sevens couldn't improve against Jagz7's pair of queens. Ryan exited the tournament in 29th place and earned $819.20 for his efforts.

1:30am - To be KhAN

RaiNKhAN is doing his best to reclaim the chip lead, his aggressive play continuing to be effective. In one nine-hand stretch, Khan won seven hands, four of them in a row to increase his stack from 168,000 to the 253,533 he sits with at the moment.

So, what's it like to be RaiNKhAN and at the top of the leaderboard in yet another tournament? Well, you get a rail. Funny thing, RaiNKhAN has answers to questions you might not expect. Here's a brief snippet of some recent chat at his table.

GlenFilter [observer]: I bet you got alot of cool new videogames with that mill you won huh?

1:25am - CASHRUS took a hit, might need to change name to DOUBLEUPRUS

CASHRUS was cruising in the top ten with over 125,000 chips earlier in the level, but just saw his stack halved by the surging ImBillMcNeal. McNeal opened for a min-raise to 6,000 and CASHRUS min-reraised him back to 12,000. McNeal called and both players drew one. CASHRUS led out for a minimum bet of 6,000, only to be raised to 27,000 by McNeal. CASHRUS ultimately made the call and saw the bad news when McNeal revealed an ace-high flush. The hand knocked CASHRUS down to the 42,000 mark and he has some rebuilding to do while McNeal jumped to more than 181,000.

Kidding about the name change; that would just be wrong.

1:20am - Biggest pot of the tournament?

Sitting on a slightly below average stack of 73,444, Clapi made a pre-draw raise to 12,000 after zivbaryosef limped in, only to have bbbbb33 come over the top for 39,000. zivbaryosef got out of the way, Clapi moved all-in, and bbbbb33 called the additional 34,144. Each player drew two cards and at the showdown, Clapi's kings full of nines prevailed over bbbbb33's trip fives, earning him the 150,000 pot. (Say it with me - 150K!) In the chat, original limper zivbaryosef claimed to have folded A-A pre-draw.

1:05am - nathalie111 taking over and ready to crack the 300,000 mark

During this level, nathalie111 has taken his/her game to new heights. His/her queens up bested Onkel Bief's sixes and fives in a 20,000 pot, and on the next deal, he/she snagged another 23,000 when he/she hit a pair of aces to beat Pokerccini's lone pair of fives.

He/she took down four of the next six pots with pre-draw raises and reraises and then picked up a 60,000 pot less than five minutes later. nathalie111 opened for 6,000 and made the call when he/she was reraised to 20,200 by Oddla. Each player drew one, and nathalie111 called Oddla's 9,112 all-in, showing an ace-high flush to crush Oddla's kings and sevens. Oddla finished in 38th place while nathalie111 continued to roll.

In the time it took to type this post, he/she boosted her chip count by another 40,000 and is about to crack the 300k mark.

(Trying not to be gender-specific is hard!)

12:55am - BeLOWaBOVe eliminated in 44th place

Kevin "BeLOWaBOVe" Saul was ready to tangle with Pokerccini again. Though he doubled through him a short time ago, this didn't mimic those results.

Down to 28,400, Saul reraised Pokerccini's 4,888 pre-draw raise to 12,000, only to have Pokerccini four-bet him all-in. Saul made the call and drew one call while Pokerccini stood pat. Saul made queens and jacks with an ace kicker, but Pokerccini had been dealt a pat nine-high straight and dragged the 60,000 chip pot, eliminating Saul. He was forced to accept 44th place and $552.96 for his troubles.

Other notable eliminations in recent history (the last 10 or 15 minutes) were Rappe123 in 42nd place ($614.40) and ExMeter in 40th place ($614.40).

12:42am - RaiNKhAN storming his table

(If you hadn't guessed, players did return from break. If they didn't, that would have been interesting.)

And as players returned, those sitting at RaiNKhAN's table were witness and victim to his bulldozing the table. He now has at least a 2.5/1 chip lead over all other players on Table 118. However, pleazzzzzzzz has been staying active there and remains a thorn in Khan's right side.

Meanwhile, nathalie111 has taken over the chip lead from Khan, currently sitting with 187,547 after picking up several pots. This game is far from over, and it belongs to anyone. Insert ominous music here.

12:25am - A five minute break is just long enough to...

...write this post and let you know that players will enter a new level upon their return.

12:10am - BeLOWaBOVe earns much-needed double-up

Kevin "BeLOWaBOVe" Saul was looking for chips; his 29,000 wasn't going to do for long with blinds at 800/1,600. Saul limped in from UTG and Pokerccini raised it up to 9,700 from the button. Saul reraised to 17,800 and Pokerccini called the additional 8,100. Saul stood pat, Pokerccini drew one, and Saul immediately moved all-in for his remaining 11,050. Pokerccini made the call, showing two pair, queens and nines, but Saul held an ace-high flush in hearts, good to double his stack to 62,600.

12:00am - Andre Akkari bids adieu

The current level was not kind to aakkari. He tried to get into numerous pots cheap but reraises pushed him out almost every time. Finally, he was hovering near the $25,000 mark and felt it was time to make a move.

In the small blind, aakkari posted his 800 chips, and The Erb raised to 4,800. aakkari made it 9,600 to go, and The Erb called. After aakkari discarded two and The Erb discarded one, aakkari put his last 15,576 in the pot and got the call. aakkari showed Kd-Ac-Ah-9d-8c for the pair of aces, but The Erb had him dominated with 8d-6h-7s-7c-8s. Two pair took the 52,852 pot and sent aakkari to the virtual rail.

Team PokerStars Pro Andre Akkari has been eliminated in 58th place with a $512.00 consolation prize.

11:50pm - THE__D__RY's bluff goes awry but gets some back

Danny "THE__D__RY" Ryan's latest squeeze play didn't go quite the way he wanted.

dirty4b opened for 2,999 and ImBillMcNeal made the call before Ryan, stacked at 57,000, popped it to 10,000. dirty4b called the additional 7,001 and ImBillMcNeal got out of the way. Ryan rapped pat while dirty4b drew one. Ryan led out for 20,000, setting dirty4b all in and after a short think, dirty4b called off his remaining 16,204. dirty4b showed Ac-Ad-6s-6c-Ts for aces up, while all Ryan held was Q-9 high. dirty4b raked in the nearly 57,000 pot, Ryan losing nearly half his stack on the bluff.

However, only a few hands later, Ryan was able to rebound and double back up. Opening pre-draw for 2,850, his bet was reraised by MattEMenz to 7,200 and Ryan made the call. MattEMenz drew two and Ryan rapped pat again. After a check from MattEMenz, Ryan bet 11,850 and was called. No bluff this time-- Ryan turned over eights full of aces to drag the pot and put his stack back over the 50K mark.

11:42pm - CASHRUS looking for another final table

It seems like ancient history. What's that? The time when the PokerStars Sunday Million didn't exist. In the faded pages of the history books sits a tale of a Sunday tournament with a $700,000 gaurantee. Back then, there was a guy from Houston named CASHRUS. He won that fabled tournament for more than $150,000. At this hour, CASHRUS is still alive in this event and sits in the Top 20 in chips. Those people who talked about history repeating itself may have been onto something.

11:25pm - Back from break with a familiar face in the lead

Just before the break, a new chip leader emerged. In a monster hand with a pot nearly 90,000 chips strong, Hevad "RaiNKhAN" Khan won it with trip kings against TabberNackle's mucked hand. It all went down as follows:

With just over 56,000 in his stack, TabberNackle made a pre-draw raise to 2,775. A similarly stacked kafelnikovz made the call and RainKhan, with around 58,000 behind reraised to 12,700 from the small blind. TabberNackle called and kafelnikovz gave it up. Both players drew two cards and RainKhan led out for 29,775, well over half his remaining stack.

"Ugh," wrote TabberNackle in the chat box as he made a reluctant call.

RainKhan turned up Ks-Kc-Kh-5c-7c for trip kings and raked in the 89,325 pot, sending his stack up to 104,772 at the break. TabberNackle was left with just under 14,000.

While those at the top of the leaderboard seem to have returned from break with every intention of staying in the lead, a few have already fallen by the wayside. Szaqal, hvilla37, and The Dad have left the tournament in 79th through 77th places respectively, each taking $450.56 for their efforts.

11:05 pm - And then there was the break...

1. RaiNKhaN - 104,772
2. xoxol73 - 94,886
3. bonobostyle - 87,820

11pm – Battle of the PokerStars

There may be camaraderie away from the tables but whilst they’re at them Team PokerStars Pros are focused only on winning chips, regardless of whom they once belonged to. That certainly went for Andre Akkari and Hevad Khan who tussled in a pot that was ultimately worth nearly 20,000.

With action folded to Khan on the button he raised to 2,500 with Akkari in the small blind next to act. He called, leaving the big blind to get out of their way. Andre discarded three whilst Khan needed just the two.

Another raise from Khan, this time 6,500, but not enough to deter the Brazilian who called showing a set of kings with Jh-4d-Ks-Kh-Kc. For Khan two pair, 6h-9h-9s-Ah-As.

A vital boost for Akkari. Both players now hover around the 40K mark.

10:52 pm - Now with the power of fizz!

BodogAri is no longer with us at Table 77 after three big pots.

The first saw him raise to 2,500 before the draw in middle position. Only pokerbitc.. called from the big blind, leaving himself 6,634 behind he drew three cards while Ari drew two. pokerbitc.. checked and Ari bet 4,700, which pokerbitc.. called with two pair, jacks and fours; either of those would've been good enough to beat Ari's lowly pair of 3s. That took Ari down to 14,550.

The next to take a swing at BodogAri was PullenPots, who opened the pot under the gun for 2,000. Ari raised on the button to 4,650, which drew an all-in raise to 6,790 from PullenPots. Ari called the raise and both players drew a single card. Ari showed two pair, eights and sixes, but PullenPots held threes full of tens to drag the 15,680 pot.

With BodogAri down to just 5,860, it seemed he would need a lot of help to stay in the game. He got in a three-way pot for his tournament life after calling a 2,700 pre-draw raise by Danny Ryan and having FizzPower shove for 6,650 behind him; Ryan called, as did Ari, and it was time for some drama.

FizzPower drew two cards, Ryan drew three, and Ari drew three. In the end Ari was third-best, his pair of queens no good against the pair of aces of Ryan or the three tens of FizzPower. He went to the rail wondering what might have been as FizzPower stacked up to 20,660.

10:40pm – Up and down for Team PokerStars pros

Almost unnoticed Hevad “RaiNKhaN” Khan wins 25K in just four hands. Andre Akkari meanwhile has arrived at the table on Khan’s immediate left, and has been winning his share too, working up his stack to more than 33,000.

Seat 1: kafelnikovz 30,881
Seat 2: RaiNKhAN 47,652
Seat 3: aakkari 33,526
Seat 4: TaTaTunes 40,751
Seat 5: TabberNackle 60,648
Seat 6: vovtroy 79,684

Vovtroy in middle position raises to 3,000 and it’s folded around to Andre in the big blind who calls. Each players discards a card. Andre checked to Vovtroy who takes a second before betting 4,000. Andre calls and watches as Vovtroy turns over 6s-6d-Ad-Ac-5d, his two pair being good enough to beat Andre to a 15,100 pot.

10:34 pm - I want to take you higher

Once again it's time for the blinds to go up. With only 11% of the field left, the end is beginning to appear on the horizon - but of course, we're still not really close. Team PokerStars Pro still has representatives in the hunt, with Hevad "RaiNKhaN" Khan (30,870) and Andre "aakkari" Akkari (17,440) both making strong showings. Fellow Team PokerStars Pro Tom McEvoy, however, fell by the wayside just before the break in 204th place.

10:25pm – Seeing double twice

Kjelal just doubled up to more than 24,000 after making quad tens. With blinds now 400/800 with a 75 ante, brsavage rasied to 2,400 in total from middle position which kjelal in the cut off called, as did KidPokerJD on teh button and charder30 under-the-gun . Charder30 took one card, brsavage three while kjelal and brsavage also discarded one.

A check by charder30 before brsavage bet 4,000. Kjelal saw his moment and re-raised all-in, a further 3,720. Only brsavage takes on the call, watching as kjelal turned over 5d-Th-Td-Ts-Tc. For brsavage two pair, aces and queens.

“nh” said brsavage, the decent thing despite having just lost a pot worth more than 25,000.

With tables breaking all over the place, the bubble having released a huge sigh of relief from many, this table has caught the eye, featuring as it does Team PokerStars Pro Andre Akkari and charder30, who final tabled at the PCA earlier this year.

Following the kjelal coup the table lines up like this...

Kjelal 24,865
KidPokerJD 12,771
TheChair70 11,181
Andre “aakkari “ Akkari 26,690
Charder30 20,872
Brsavage 7,696

10:25 pm - Pullin' pots on 77

We've seen two double-ups through the big stacks, exactly what neither of them wanted to see, on Table 77.

BodogAri gave out the first one. He opened before the draw for 3,200 , only to see kedvedert move all-in for a total of 3,902. That cleared out the rest of the field and got a call from Ari, who took three cards; kedvedert, meanwhile, took only one. Ari's pair of eights was no good against kedvedert's 6-6-4-4-A, sending him up to 9,454 and dropping Ari to 20,302.

On the very next hand, Danny Ryan opened under the gun for 1,600 and had a flashback to Ari's hand just moments before when PullenPots moved all-in for 5,120. It was a much bigger call than Ari had to make, but Ryan put the chips in anyway. He took three cards and made two pair, tens and threes; unfortunately for him, PullenPots discarded only one card because he already had a bigger two pair, kings and queens.

Ryan now sits on 21,462, while PullenPots is up to 11,490.

10:17 pm - First you get the chips, then you get the power...

Danny "THE_D_RY" Ryan (30,357) and BodogAri (22,704) have all the power right now on Table 77, but they aren't going crazy with it. The other four players at the table are all short enough to be willing to get aggressive, and most of them just deep enough to make an appreciable dent in either Ryan's or Ari's stack right now. kedvedert (5,477), FizzPower (5,800), PullenPots (8664), and pokerbitc..(4,169) would love to double through either of the big stacks at this point.

10:08 pm - Bad beat for EndlessJ

We've reached the break without bursting the bubble. Two players we're watching are hanging on for dear life right now - Jysky11 with 370 and zezao27 with 710. That's less than the big blind for both those players now, so something needs to happen soon for each of them.

As for the other side of the spectrum, here's the leaderboard as of the break:

1. Rappe123 90,153
2. CASHRUS 78,130
3. Bigegypt 69,258
4. The Erb 64,345
5. TabberNackle 63,418

8. ImBillMcNeal 57,651
9. Xoxol73 48,700
10. Crispy 86 46,162

And your other notables:

ExaMeter 41,709
Danny “THE_D_RY” Ryan 38,730
Kongsgaard 39,253
Andre “aakkari” Akkari 20,840
*BSC* 17,540

Falling just short of the money in the last fifteen minutes were TravestyFund (158th), Foxwoody (159th), Ripall (160th), HoldemKy5 (161st), and BOCCE - (162nd).

9:55pm -- Bouncing on the bubble

The bubble held no fear for one player at least.

Tok3r found a hand he thought he could do business with and he pushed with his remaining 1,800 from the button. Next to him in the small blind was ExaMeter, comfortably able to call the bet, sitting as he was with more than 31,000. Whilst ExaMeter discarded three Tok3r stood pat, a sign perhaps of steel nerves or a just hand that would give anyone a welcome shot of confidence.

It was exactly that. Tok3r turned over 5h-6c-7c-8h-9h for a straight whilst ExaMeter could manage only a pair of aces, showing 5c-4c-Ad-Ac-Kh.

Nothing more than a slight dent in ExaMeter’s fortunes perhaps, but a mighty boost for Tok3r now with a fighting chance of making the money.

9:40pm – Kedvedert gets a boost

Kedvedert found a welcome boost to his options when he took down a decent pot. Raised by Idw1971 in the cut-off to 1,200 it was folded back to kedvedert in the big blind who made the call. It was a hand that could easily have gone to the death, with both players on a few thousand each, 3k and 4k respectively.

ldw1971 discarded three whilst his opponent switched just one. And it was a good one, with kedvedert betting 1,800, getting called and taking down the 6,600 pot with a full house, fives over deuces.

We're beginning to get close to bubble time in the second event of this year's WCOOP. Rappe123 is the current chip leader with 80,940, about 27,000 more than his nearest competitor. Team PokerStars Pros Andre Akkari and Hevad Khan are still in the hunt as well.

9:20 pm - Signs of rain over Khan

We’ve been following RaiNKhaN for much of the day, watching him in the early stages amass a stack likely to cause opponents some trouble. Now though it’s Khan looking for help.

Ckingusc raised to 1,000 from the cut-off. The button and small blind folded to Khan who promptly re-rasied to 3,500. Without pause for drama ckingusc re-raised all-in, finding Khan calling, showing his 3d-6c-Ah-3s-Ac having discarded just one card.

ckingusc had swapped two and had topped Khan’s two pair, tabling 2h-Jc-2c-2s-6s for trip deuces and a pot of 17,400 that left the Team PokerStars Pro on 3,800.

9:16 pm - The TV table of the moment

Over at Table 18, we've got quite a lineup going right now. Team PokerStars Pro Hevad "RaiNKhaN" Khan, jornxx - who was down to under 1,000 on one of our earliest feature tables, and ckingusc are all sitting together - and it's jornxx who's the big stack with 26,618. Here's a look at the full lineup:

Seat 1 - ShowdownX - 14,900
Seat 2 - kedvedert - 13,971
Seat 3 - ckingusc - 7,800
Seat 4 - jornxx - 26,618
Seat 5 - ldw1971 - 6,990
Seat 6 - RaiNKhaN - 12,900

9:15pm – The fight back falls short

Only a few hands later Sarp Ovutmen was out to recoup some losses, raising on the button to 2,100. The blinds folded leaving just pokerbitc.. who had limped under-the-gun. It was now the 10k stack of pokerbitc.. up against the 2,400 of Sarp.

Pokerbitc.. called, discarded one card and raised to 2,100 leaving Sarp no choice but to fold. A pot worth 5,100 to pokerbitc.. and a stack perilously close to the felt for Sarp Ovutmen who takes another hit without seeing the hand that cost him.

9:10pm – Move aside

Sarp Ovutmen, with nearly 6,000, got things moving under-the gun, making it 1,200. It was folded back round to Danny Ryan in the small blind who after a few flashes of his avatar re-raised, 2,800 in total, with Sarp and finelame (sat with 6,500) waiting in the big blind well and truly covered.

Testament to what can be done with a stack so powerful the re-raise was good for the pot, another 3,100 to Ryan.

9:10 pm - Akkari warrior?

We dropped in to check on Team PokerStars Pro Andre "aakkari" Akkari's stack, and it looks like things have been going well for him. He dragged an 8,100-chip pot against bonobostyle earlier after drawing one card to an ace-high flush, and he's sitting on a healthy 20,130 right now.

9pm – Over to table Ryan

Into level nine now with blinds at 200/400 with a 50 ante and attention focuses on table 77 where THE_D_RY, also known as Danny Ryan, perhaps one of the European Poker Tour’s most persistent and successful qualifiers, sits with a little less than 21,000. It’s fair to say that he’s ahead at this table...

Finelame 4,667
Sarp Ovutmen 6,441
Zezao27 8,310
PullenPots 3,676

8:38pm— A few more stacks get a welcome boost

A nice call just boosted HoldemKy5's stack even further. zivbaryosef opened for 900 on the button, and HoldemKy5 made the call from the big blind. HoldemKy5 drew just one and zivbaryosef stood pat. It was clear he would bet, so HoldemKy5 checked, allowing zivbaryosef to bet out 1,200.

Deciding that it was worth the call HoldemKy5 committed the chips and showed two pair, fours and threes. zivbaryosef meanwhile turned over ace-king high and shipped a 4,500 pot over to HoldemKy5.
After that nice little run though HoldemKy5 slid back a bit, courtesy of two pots.

In the first mike77q opened for 800 and HoldemKy5 raised to 2,100 on the button to isolate. That prompted a shove for 5,730 from miko and HoldemKy5 called, leaving himself 23,600. miko stood pat on a king-high flush which beat HoldemKy5's two pair, queens and tens.

In the second pot, it was Team PokerStars Pro Tom McEvoy who got the check in his "W" column. He called HoldemKy5's raise to 900 before the draw, as did vgreen22. HoldemKy5 drew just a single card while McEvoy and vgreen22 took three each. HoldemKy5 checked after the draw, and McEvoy bet 1,800. HoldemKy5 made the call and dropped to 20,850 when McEvoy showed A-A-9-9-Q for the win, upping his stack to 9,055.

8:35pm— Big stacks, small stacks

With 600 in the pot before the cards are dealt it's not too hard to build a pot with some aggression. HoldemKy5 has been proving just that, taking pots easily at this point in the tournament thanks to a big stack. He's up to 26,580, a jump of over 5,000 since arriving at this table.

Meanwhile, Tom McEvoy seems to have been handcuffed since HoldemKy5 showed up on his right; he's hanging on with 5,430.

8:25pm— Like the good old days

After blinding down VegasPro74 has made his exit from table 150. He's been replaced by HoldemKy5, who sits on Tom McEvoy’s right with a massive stack of 21,435.

A railbird just asked Tom McEvoy if this event reminded him of the old days.

"Reminds me of old Gardena," replied McEvoy in the chat box, referring to the old Five Card Draw capital of the 1970s.

"Too bad Mike Caro can't be here, lol," replied the railbird.

Meanwhile, HoldemKy5 scored his first kill at the table, taking out Sonsbiggestf in a pot worth 7,190. Most of the money went in before the draw, with Sonsbiggestf opening for 900 and calling a re-raise to 2,100. That left Sonsbiggestf just 1,270 behind, all of which went in after the draw.

We might as well have been playing hold'em when both players held two cards. HoldemKy5's pair of aces held up against Sonsbiggestf's pair of kings to bust him. zivbaryosef now replaces Sonsbiggestf, coming in with 17,205.

8:15pm— Looking for a miracle

With blinds at 150/300 and an ante of 25, miko77q just caught back at the expense of VegasPro74, leaving him extremely short. miko77q raised up to 650 on the button and his only caller was VegasPro74 in the small blind. Both players drew two cards and VegasPro74 made the call when miko77q bet 750. Trips aces were good for miko, while VegasPro74 dropped to just 720.

To make things worse, he limped in before the draw on the next hand and folded when Tom McEvoy raised it up to over 1,000. It looks like VegasPro74 needs a serious intervention from the poker gods to stay alive here.

8:10pm— A welcome pot for Car0lusRex

Tom McEvoy limped in for 250 in middle position and found himself raised to 750 by Car0lusRex on the button. Before McEvoy could make a decision miko77q came along from the big blind. McEvoy called as well to go to the draw.

miko77q took only one card, while MEvoy drew three and Car0lusRex the same. Oddly, the action checked around after the draw; miko77q showed two pair, fives and deuces, but Car0lusRex caught up to make kings and nines, taking down the 2,525 pot and boosting him to 6,640.

7:55 pm— Attention turns to table McEvoy

Team PokerStars Pro and former World Champion Tom McEvoy is at an interesting table in the sense that nobody is extremely deep right now; with blinds of 125/250 and a 25 ante, here are the chip counts as we come in on the new feature table:

Car0lusRex 4,215
Sonsbiggestf 4,270

7:45pm— Just before the break

More action before the break on table 151, and all before the draw. BigRoofus opened for 600 on the button leaving himself another 5,975 behind. Erik_lkast then made it 1,900 from the big blind, with 2,155 behind. BigRoofus then found enough for a third raise, which would set Erik all-in.

He eventually declined, giving us a convenient point to end our coverage of this feature table. Here's where the players stood:

*BSC* - 14,140
BigRoofus - 8,575
marianoboni - 5,950
Clapi - 5,390
Dariominieri - 3,725
Erik_lkast - 3,255

7:41 pm— Nightmares forecast

When Clapi goes to bed tonight he's going to have trouble sleeping thanks to all the visions of *BSC* filling his head. Clapi just dropped even further thanks to his nemesis-of-late, who turned up trip jacks for a 2,700 pot. Clapi now has 5,690, while *BSC* has 14,440.

7:35pm— A new leader breaks loose

A tough break for Dario Minieri just a moment ago saw him fall to 4,925.

*BSC* opened under the gun for 600, which Dario called on the button. Both blinds got out of the way, leaving *BSC* to draw three cards while Dario took just one. *BSC* check-called Dario's 1,500 bet with two pair, aces and fives, just good enough to beat Dario's kings and tens. That bumped *BSC* up to 9,640.
Clapi continued his descent as *BSC* continued to climb in the next hand.

Clapi opened in middle position for 600 getting a call from *BSC* only in the big blind. Both players drew a single card, and *BSC* opened the action with a check. Clapi bet 600 again, but *BSC* check-raised to 1,400. Clapi made the call only to see *BSC* turn over a full house, fours full of eights, to claim the 4,100 in the middle.

That pot dropped Clapi to just 7,790, while *BSC* was up to 11,740, making him the new big stack at the table.

7:25pm— The calm before the storm

Things have stayed relatively calm around here since the last update. Dario Minieri, Erik_lkast, and marianoboni have each claimed one small-action pot worth about 1,500, but that's the extent of the action right now.

Minieri continues to play the role of poker terrorist perfectly, raising almost every time he has a chance, and that has him up to 8,025. Clapi, meanwhile, is down to 11,145 after being closer to 15,000 earlier.

Erik_lkast had been the table short stack since marianoboni doubled up earlier, but he's now back in contention after a hand that went just the way he wanted.

Erik opened in middle position and got a call from Clapi on the button. Erik drew just one card, while Clapi took two. Erik waited a moment before shoving all-in for his last 1,455. Clapi snap-called with a pair of aces, but it was no good against the kings and sevens of Erik_lkast. That gave him 4,610, while Clapi dropped to 10,890.

7:15 pm— The Dario show

While he may not be the biggest stack at table 151 Dario Minieri certainly is the center of attention right now. Everyone wants a piece of him, even railbirds asking him to play heads-up. Erik_lkast wanted a piece, too, but it ended up being more than he anticipated.

Erik opened on the button for 450 and Dario called in the big blind. Both players drew two cards, and Dario checked after the draw. Erik didn't take long to fire 750, leaving himself just 2,005 behind, but Dario immediately made the bet 3,225 - enough to set his opponent all-in. A few seconds went by before Erik passed, shipping the 2,475 pot to Dario and boosting him to 7,625.

Then the shortest stack at the table, marianoboni, got a big break that put him back in contention.

Minieri (surprise!) opened for 525 on the button, and marianoboni made it 1,725, leaving himself only 610 behind. BigRoofus, who had 8,610 in his stack, made an isolation raise to get Dario out of the way. It worked and the two were heads-up.

Both players drew two cards, with the showdown being a rough one for BigRoofus. He showed T-8-2-2-2 for trip deuces, but marianoboni showed K-J-J-J-T for trip jacks to take down the 5,195 pot. BigRoofus, meanwhile, slipped to 6,425.

7:05 pm— Mariano versus Dario

Surprise, surprise - Dario opened another pot before the draw. Anyone familiar with the young Italian pro will know of his formidable reputation and it’s no different here.

This time the bet was 525 in middle position, drawing a call from the short-stacked marianoboni behind Minieri. Minieri drew just one card while marianoboni took two. Minieri checked, but marianoboni couldn't pull the trigger for the rest of his stack; he turned up two pair, aces and kings, good enough to beat Minieri's Ah-2h-3h-4h-9c.

That boosted marianoboni to 2,485 and dropped Dario to 6,350.

7:00 pm— Taking on the Italian

Only one player at the table had Dario Minieri covered since the Italian made his moves after the break. Clapi is that player, sitting to Minieri's right. But that hasn't affected him much so far. He's taken a few of the pots that Minieri had been involved in, pushing himself up to just shy of 15,000. Minieri meanwhile, has slid back to 6,050.

Here's the full count right now:

Clapi - 14,720
*BSC* - 7,540
BigRoofus - 7,260
Dariominieri - 6,125
Erik_lkast - 2,905
marianoboni - 2,485

We were just getting ready to say that things were slowing down when Clapi raised on the button to 450. Dario Minieri wasted no time making the bet 1,500 out of the small blind, driving both big blind marianoboni and button Clapi away and picking himself back up to 6,875. Outside of that pot, though, things are staying relatively calm for the moment.

6:51 pm – The force known as Dario

As we enter the third hour of play today and start level five we're going to shift attention over to Team PokerStars Pro Dario Minieri and his tablemates on table 151, especially after what Dario just pulled off. In two pots to start off the table, he went from 4,235 to 9,275.

In the first hand he opened in middle position for 525 and marianoboni, who had 4,960 in his stack, made the call. Minieri stood pat and marianoboni drew one card. Minieri led out for 1,275 and marianoboni made the call, only to find out that Minieri had started off with a full house, fours over kings.

After that pot, worth 3,825, slid his way, the Italian got moving again immediately. He opened to 525 under-the-gun only to find himself re-raised to 1,500 on the button by CFB402. Minieri then pushed back, raising to 4,725, more than enough to put CFB402 all-in. He made the call and the players went to the draw.

Minieri took one card, while CFB402 took two. Minieri showed 9-9-9-6-2 for trip nines, good enough to beat his opponent's A-K-Q-Q-5 and send him to the rail

6:38 pm— Holding fire

On the last two hands before the break RainKHaN made a big move and pushed himself up to 8,215. The first saw him re-re-raise before the draw, tripling twirlpro's bet of 1,000 and scaring him off. Then twirlpro opened the last pot for 350, only to see Khan make it 1,000. twirlpro called, but after Khan stood pat and bet 800, he wasn't willing to come along.

6:33 pm-- McDog still has some bite

For 25 hands in a row we didn't see a single pot worth more than 900, but Lefty McDog ended that streak just a minute ago with a healthy sized pot.

jornxx limped in under-the-gun and twirlpro, who earlier had missed out on a hand after losing his connection, followed him up, leaving Lefty McDog to check from the big blind and draw three cards. jornxx drew just two, as did twirlpro. Lefty McDog led out weak for just 200 after the draw, and jornxx raised it up to 600.

Lefty made the call and twirlpro showed T-T-T-9-8 for three tens. That wasn't good, though, as Lefty McDog showed down A-A-A-K-8 for the bigger trips and scooped up the 1,550 pot.

6:28 pm — Outkicked

jornxx opened for 350 under-the-gun and got a call on the button from RaiNKhaN. Both players discarded three and after jornxx checked Khan bet 100. jornxx called and Khan turned up As-Ks-Kd-9d-7d for kings with an ace. jornxx mucked, but a moment later Khan typed "wow thats pretty sick, outkicked lol" into the chat box, suggesting jornxx also had a pair of kings.

6.25pm – All those years ago

Hardcore fans of the WCOOP will know that all this started back in 2002 with a nine event series that was the first of its kind, amassing a total prize pool all those years in excess of $730,000. How things change, with that figure shattered year on year since then.

Those same hardcore may also remember a player by the name 55lucky55 who took a bracelet in that first year in the Seven Card Stud high-low event, good for $14,025.

Well lucky is back, although whether he’s living up to that name only he may be able to say. At the second break the former bracelet winner was over his original 3,000 but now four levels in lucky is down. No wait, he’s back up, from more than 3k, to less than 2k and now back up to nearly 2,500.

Two from the button and with blinds at 50/100 and sat with 2,260 chips 55lucky55 calls the big blind whilst to his left gangstuhl raises another 200. Only lucky stays to call taking one card, the same as gangstuhl, before betting 600. It’s six times the big blind and called by gangstuhl.

The showdown brought sets for both players but lucky’s set of threes was no use against the three jacks gangstuhl turned over. A pot worth 1,950 went his way leaving former bracelet winner lucky hampered once more.

6.20pm -- A quiet spell

Things have slowed down a bit. With the big blind at 100 and the opening bet normally somewhere between 300 and 350, there’s always the possibility of finding yourself all-in.

We were on a 12-hand streak of nobody winning a pot bigger than one built by a pre-draw raise and a call. RaiNKhaN dropped a pot with two pair just a few moments ago when his nines and fives were no good against Maximardel's aces and eights.

He quickly rebounded though, taking a pot from twirlpro after standing pat on the draw and betting pot afterward. He's now sitting on 5,215.

6:10 pm — Ups and downs

A nice call for ShowdownX has lifted him back up to par. twirlpro raised in middle position to 300, and ShowdownX called out of the small blind. He drew three cards and twirlpro hesitated before drawing just one. ShowdownX checked after the draw and twirlpro bet 500 into the 700 pot. ShowdownX immediately called with a pair of aces, good enough to beat twirlpro's busted queen-high flush draw. Up to 3,650 for ShowdownX now while twirlpro dips to 4,505.

6:06 pm— Hard times for Lefty

Poor Lefty McDog, he just can't catch a break right now. He opened on the button for 175 again, only to find himself popped out of the blinds once more. This time it was jornxx getting aggressive, making the bet 575. "Boo," said Luck McDog in the chatbox. He has dropped slightly to 2,665, while former shorty jornxx is at 3,130.

6:00 pm— Look, no hands!

We just saw the biggest pot of this table so far, and not a showdown to be found.

Lefty McDog opened for 175 on the button and twirlpro popped it to 550 from the big blind. Lefty slipped into his time bank a bit before making it 1,675 to go, and twirlpro made the call.

On the draw, twirlpro stood pat, while Lefty McDog took two. It didn't take a half-second for twirlpro to shove all-in for his last 2,180 and put Lefty to the test. He eventually decided against the call, mucking and typing "stand pat bluff!" into the chat box while twirlpro dragged the 3,375 pot.

5.50pm -- No let up in the action

It seems jornxx doesn’t look to be going anywhere just yet. After dropping that first pot before the draw to RaiNKhaN he's struck back with a well-timed double-up.

ShowdownX raised the minimum under-the-gun and jornxx called the 100. RaiNKhaN also came along, and all drew three cards. Khan checked and ShowdownX led out for 150. jornxx then shoved, getting Khan out of the way and leaving the decision to ShowdownX. He eventually called with two pair, aces and fives, but couldn't keep jornxx and his trip queens from jumping back to 1,655.

5:43 pm – Turning our attention elsewhere

Among one of the bigger stacked players in the tournament is Team PokerStars Pro Hevad “RaiNKhaN” Khan, so our attention is on him for a while. When we loaded up his table he was raising enough to put jornxx all-in, a bet which he decided against calling. Khan is already up to 6,390, a jump of over 500 since the break.

Here's where everyone is as we turn to this feature table:

RaiNKhaN - 6,390
twirlpro - 4,430
Lefty McDog - 4,015
ShowdownX - 3,565
Maximardel - 2,305
jornxx - 1,165

5:20pm— Chips all over the place

The pace got slower after Chad Brown's monster pot until the Team PokerStars Pro made one too many pre-draw raises for Shaun Deeb's liking.

Brown opened from middle position to 60, getting a call from Car0lusRex on the button. Deeb made it a total of 270, getting Brown out of the way, but Car0lusRex was in for the ride.

Both players discarded one card, and Deeb wasted no time in betting 400. Car0lus called and Deeb showed 2s-8d-Qd-8c-8s for three of a kind to take down the 1,430 pot. He's now on 3,765, while Car0lusRex is down to 2,480, but the roller coaster would continue. Three hands later Car0lusRex struck back.

It all started innocuously enough, with Car0lusRex limping in, first to act, followed by rocketime on the button. Brown made it 135 from the big blind, getting a call only from Car0lusRex. Both players discarded one and the stage was set for the action.

Brown fired a bet of 315 out of position, and Car0lusRex came in for the min-raise. Brown called and Car0lusRex flipped up a queen-high heart flush, winning the 1,575 pot and picking himself back up to 3,200. Brown, meanwhile, was back down to 4,285.

5.12pm – The good and the bad

The last few hands have not been good to Isabelle Mercier. After losing a sizeable hand to vbet_holmes a few hundred more had passed by during the next few hands and more so in a hand against ChrisX whose aces and fours were good to knock Mercier down to 1,300.

Meanwhile sets haven’t been too hard for Chad Brown to come by today. He just picked up another pot worth 1,005 with three jacks, picking him up to 5,590. That's four times the size of any other pot won by any player at the table since he hit the full house earlier.

5:00 pm -- Chad Brown takes a hit

rocketime just got his revenge on Chad Brown, bringing the Team PokerStars Pro back down a little closer to par. With 4,370 in his stack Brown raised to 90 after rocketime had limped in first to act. rocketime then reraised to 160, leaving himself 1,400 behind. Brown called and rocketime drew just one card; Brown thought for a moment before drawing three.

rocketime fired out a bet of 220 pretty quickly and Brown made a quick raise to 440. rocketime fired back to 660 just as fast and Brown called to see rocketime's three aces. The pot dropped Brown back to 3,550 and boosted rocketime to 2,410.

Brown got more back than he bargained for just four hands later.

With RB4454 and rocketime having limped in ahead of him, Brown bumped the bet to 120 from the small blind before the draw. Both opponents called, building the pot to 390. Brown drew just one card, while RB4454 and rocketime both took three.

Brown led out for 150 after the draw, and RB4454 made it 300. rocketime folded and Brown hesitated just a moment before making it 1,290 to go. RB4454 made the call, a bad one as it turned out: Brown held T-T-T-7-7 for a full house to take down the 2,970 pot. That boosted him back to 5,170, and dropped RB4454 to 1,920.

4.58pm -- No Mercy for Isabelle

Into level two with blinds of 15/30 Team PokerStars Pro Isabelle Mercier is getting stuck into this event after crashing out of the opening event earlier today. She just tangled with vbet_holmes who came out raising Mercier’s big blind, 90 to go. With everyone folding it was back to Mercier who called, discarding three cards to vbet_holmes’ one.

A check from Mercier, another 90 from her opponent before the Canadian re-raised, 270 total. Things got even more interesting when vbet_holmes raised again, a total of 570 which again Mercier called for a showdown, one that would cost her a good portion of her stack, mucking when vbet_holmes showed Ad-Jh-Ah-Ac-2h for a set of aces.

4:54 pm— More raising and re-raising

RB4454 took down a nice pot worth 860 against Car0lusRex to pull ahead of his starting chip count for the first time. RB4454 raised it to 40 first to act, only to be re-raised to 100 by Car0lusRex in the big blind. Car0lusRex drew one and RB4454 took three. When Rex led out for 160 it didn't take long for RB to raise him up to 320.

Rex called to see the bad news: three kings for RB, and a muck for himself. Car0lusRex was down to 3,120, while RB4454 jumped to 3,200.

4:51 pm— Not so fast for Brown

Chad Brown has fallen back a little after missing a flush against Car0lusRex and later mucking his hand when RB4454 showed down two pair, tens and fives. Shaun Deeb meanwhile, is back to 3,000 after re-popping Brown before the draw again, getting another three-way pot, and betting pot to win without a showdown.

The latest chip counts look like this...

ChadBrownPRO - 4,230
Car0lusRex - 3,540
shaundeeb - 3,050
RB4554 - 2,730
77riverg - 2,800
rocketime - 1,610

4:38 pm – Notables getting busy

Team PokerStars Pro Chad Brown and shaundeeb have come out swinging at table 108. They've been winning the majority of the pots at the table so far, both making plenty of pre-draw raises, but Brown's now 17th in the field thanks to a big pot.

With 3,390 in his stack, Brown opened to 90 and Deeb made the table's first re-raise before the draw, coming over the top of Brown with 300 of his 3,000.

It became a three-way pot when rocketime (with 2,680) decided he was coming along for the ride as well. Deeb and rocketime both discarded two cards, while Brown took three. Things worked out for him, too - his 940 bet after the draw was called by rocketime, who mucked when Brown showed Kc-Ks-Kh-Qs-5h for three of a kind.

Brown is now up to 4,970.

8:10am--The Brits have their first WCOOP champion

It took more than 40 final tables and six years of WCOOP, but Britain finally has its first WCOOP bracelet, thanks to shane147 who just finished off pfffwhatever to win Event #1 of the 2008 WCOOP.

It was an unlikely all-in battle with the victor holding, indeed, J-2. Watch the hand play out below.

A full wrap-up will be available in just a bit. In the meantime, congratulations for giving your country its first WCOOP bracelet. Here are the final table results.

2008 WCOOP Event #1 FInal Table Results
Based on finishing order and four-way deal

1. shane147 (United Kingdom) $202,409
2. pffwhatever (Austria) $94,136
3. SilverSocks (Netherlands) $136,894
4. - DoV - (France) $110,000
5. CURDOG1KCK (United States) $49,075.61
6. scarface_79 (United States) $23,686.20

8:06am-Socks, knocked off

SilverSocks spent a great amount of time as the chip-leader in this event and, if you don't mind the turn of phrase, pretty much knocked the socks off every opponent he encountered. Alas, the $136,000 he made in the four-handed deal was all he would earn tonight after getting in against socks-slayer shane147 with a decent ace versus a more than decent ace.

8:01am-New boss, same as the old boss

In deep-stacked tournaments with a lot of money on the line, it takes a lot to get the money in the middle. It finally took this hand to put one player out of the 17.5 hour event.

-Dov- , the 29-year-old from Paris, fresh off quads, found the rail in fourth place. After the deal, -DoV- earned $110,000.

7:50am--Showoff...

I mean really? You've already won more than $100,000. This is just rubbing it in.

7:40am-And back near the penthouse

After shipping 70% of his stack around the table, shane147 has recovered a good chunk of it. The raising battle went back and forth and before it was over, shane147 was all-in with 8d-8s against -DoV-'s Qs-Ad. The boar gave -DoV- way too much hope, running out Ts-8h-Ac-Td-Qc. -DoV- is still alive, regardless, and shane147 is back up over the 7 million chip mark.

7:26am- Somebody once said something...

...about penthouses and outhouses. I'm not sure they had shane147 in mind, but in this case it fits as the chip leader from just a few minutes ago has fallen back into last place with this hand.

7:20am-One all-in too many

With his big money locked up, shane147 has been pushing the table around with his big stack. Around the world, people said, "He's going to get called someday soon." Like...well, now.

Just seconds later, shane147 did it again, getting KQ in against SilverSocks. Both hands went unimproved and longtime chip leader shane147 is now in second place.

7:13am- $20,000 SNG anyone?

With the deal in place, what we have here is the equivalent a four-handed sit-and-go for a couple of big dimes. Of course, it's not very evenly matched. Here are the stacks as they stand 17 hours into Event #1:

Seat 1: - DoV - (2109047 in chips)
Seat 4: SilverSocks (6373438 in chips)
Seat 5: pffwhatever (1906042 in chips)
Seat 6: shane147 (11262473 in chips)

7:05am- And the skies opened with praises for a deal and a job well done by our final four

Can I get an hallelujah?

A huge congratulations to shane147, pffwhatever, SilverSocks, -DoV- for their fortitude this morning/evening in brokering following chip chop deal:

- DoV: $110,000
- SilverSocks: $136,894
- pffwhatever: $94,136
- shane147: $182,409

And the $20,000 plus the WCOOP bracelet will remain in the middle until one of the final four claims all the chips.

6:50am-- And some more chop talks break out

With the bust out of CURDOG1KCK chip chop counts were presented for the remaining four players to fight over the remainder of the prize pool (aside from the $20,000 for the winner plus the WCOOP bracelet of course).

6:37am-- The suck and resuck end in 5th place for CURDOG1KCK

$8.80 turned into a $215 ticket into Event #1 is what CURDOG1KCK started with nearly 15 hours ago, and now he was rewarded with $49,075.61 for his play in fifth place. With only 419,712 chips left and blinds at 25000/50000, antes 5000 he shoved from the small blind into SilverSocks who covered him easily starting the hand with 5,518,952 in chips.

CURDOG1KCK: As-7s
SilverSocks: Kc-9s

For the conclusion of the roller-coaster, check out the hand replayer below:

6:23am-- CURDOG1KCK playing for $200K, only spent eight bucks

CURDOG1KCK was kind enough to provide a little information about himself and the huge return on his eight dollar investment this evening. The 26 year old player currently hails from Kansas City and is here representing local poker league named the “Double Deuce Poker League”.

This apparently broke some ice as -DoV- offered that he is a 29 year old player from Paris, France and giving a shout out to those at Valjoli Castle.

6:10am-- The international language of poker

A breakdown of the top 10 countries (86 countries total) represented this evening and the surprising stat to this writer is the United States only made up a little more then a third of those playing this evening morning.

United States 2538
Germany 755
United Kingdom 512
Canada 441
Sweden 373
Netherlands 341
Norway 336
France 316
Denmark 232
Australia 159

6:06am-- shane147 hits the straight and scarface_79 is the first casualty of the final table

scarface_79 got his money in good with a huge preflop advantage turning over pocket queens (Qs-Qc) over shane147’s Kh-Qd after a pre-flop raising war broke out between the two. See how the smoke cleared after the 6,867,216 chips went into the middle:

scarface_79 will receive $23,686.20 for his sixth place efforts this evening.

5:49am-- Running in place

Not much movement here as the final six's play have slowed down.

Half way through the new blind levels 20000/40000, antes 4000 shane147 has extended his lead a bit here are the current chip stacks:

1. shane147 7,079,211
2. SilverSocks 4,638,841
3. - DoV - 3,361,706
4. scarface_79 2,977,834
5. pffwhatever 2,569,042
6. CURDOG1KCK 1,024,356

5:36am-- No deal is the battle cry

And after talks of a chop for $90,000 across the board while playing for the rest broke down, the players decided to forego the guaranteed money and play on.

5:20am-- Talks of deals starting up

With just a few hands played at the final table the last six have decided to look at the chip chop numbers. shane147 is still the big chip leader at 6,998,221 in chips and going to be looking for a large slice of that pie since the blinds are still low to relation to the stacks at 15000/30000, antes 3000.

For live discussion from your own Team PokerStars pros Tom McEnoy, Gavin Griffin, Vicky Coren, and Chris Moneymaker head over to the PokerStars.TV radio page for the entire final table pro commentary.

5:08am-WCOOP Event #1 Final Table set

With seven players remaining, SilverSocks found a silver lining, eliminating doubledave22 in seventh place. Seventh place would take home $9,021.26 and $23,686.20 would go to sixth. SilverSocks left just 300,000 chips behind after he and doubledave22 took their battle pre-flop getting up to a 5-bet and a snap call by doubledave22.

doubledave22: K-K
SilverSocks: T-T

The groan from doubledave22 could be heard around the world as the A-T-Q flop gave SilverSocks a set of tens to give him the lead and leave doubledave22 only four outs to a straight and two out for a higher set. But, the 4 on the turn and blank river meant doubledave22 would not be seeing double after the river and we’re now at the final table.

Seat 1: - DoV - (3455180 in chips)
Seat 2: CURDOG1KCK (1258356 in chips)
Seat 3: scarface_79 (3016834 in chips)
Seat 4: SilverSocks (4867367 in chips)
Seat 5: pffwhatever (2199042 in chips)
Seat 6: shane147 (6854221 in chips)

4:50pm- Bam, bam bam and we're down to seven...

Well, that was fast.

We found ourselves down to Opening UTG for 210,000 was nothing new as the variable chip leader has been involved with nearly all the pots in these final two tables. But, Blinckme tried to stand up to shane147’s wall of chips with a re-raise from the big blind for 840,000 with blinds at 15000/30000, antes 3000.

shane147 wasn’t fazed by the re-raise and shoved for 3,824,816 which was called by Blinckme who was all-in as shane147 got a 1,305,125 rebate:

shane147: Kh-Qc
Blinckme: Jc-Jd

Blinckme looked ripe for a double up as the board turned 8h-6s-9c-9d leaving shane147 with six outs on the river to turn the tide. With the casualness of a Sunday morning stroll the Kd splashed the river and sent Blinckme home in 10th place and $3,752.85 richer.

Seconds later, one-time Sunday Million winner kared69 found himself in the biggest race of the night, holding two queens agains SilverSocks big slick. Any guess how that ended? It always has to wait until the river doesn't it. Watch the sickness play out below.

Kared60 won $9,021 for his ninth place finish.

And then, just as we were finished reeling from that one, koolie222 got cooled in eighth place.

The paygrade from 3K to 9K for places 7th to 9th but I’m sure koolie222 was looking more towards the six figure final table payouts when all his chips went into the middle with big slick (Ad-Ks).

Unfortunately for koolie222, CURDOG1KCK was awaiting with pocket kings (Kd-Kh) and the board didn’t turn the advantage back for koolie222 as it ran out 9h-Ts-4d-7d-8c and koolie222 was iced in eighth place.

4:43am- Nearly a million chips for nothing

doubledave22 snagged 892,000 chips off the recently departed Wishboone with a nut straight a few hands ago, and now found himself sitting with nothing on a board of 3c-3s-6d-5s-2h facing a 220,000 chip bet from pffwhatever for a 970,000 chip pot. How do you think he played it? Watch below for the replay:

4:38am- Cooler leads to 11th place finish

Pick a time to be coolered. First hand of a tournament or just a few spots off the final table. We think we can all agree on which hurts worse. If there was any doubt, ask 11th place finisher Wishboone, who is now $3,752 richer, but probably not at all happy about it. Why? Check out the video below.

4:20am- The power of the internet

Someone has been checking up on the former Sunday Million champ kared69. As play has slowed down a little bit the players have been obviously doing some checking up on their opponents.

scarface_79: kared, u need another 200k score
doubledave22: u have 0 room to talk
doubledave22: lol
scarface_79: im broke

As reported here earlier, Canadia kared60 won the Sunday Million outright back in May for $200,000. It is our firm belief that scarface_79's financial woes will be taken care of should he make the final table tonight.

4:08am- How big is WCOOP?

As we get ready to come back from break, ESPN Classic is airing the 2002 World Series of Poker. That year, Robert Varkonyi won $2 million bucks. This year's WCOOP Main Event winner stands to make more than that by a substantial margin. In fact, there is a decent chance this year's WCOOP winner will earn more than the $2.5 million Chris Moneymaker won in 2003. That's how big WCOOP is.

4:00am--Break time

After playing for 13.5 hours, it seems like a good time to fry up some bacon for 15 minutes and take a break.

Level 25
Blinds 10000/20000, antes 2000

3:45am--Terminator steve147 claims another pelt, MeraTrolldeg sent home in 11th place ($3,752)

He’s letting the table know who has the most chips and can’t possibly be getting pocket aces every other hand while raising and re-raising the table at will. MeraTrolldeg decided to look up the chip leader by shoving for 1,458,987 with Kc-Ad over the top of shane147’s cutoff raise of 112,000 with blinds at 8000/16000, antes 1600. The snap call wasn’t from aces but pocket kings Kh-Ks. The board ran out dry of aces: 7h-4h-9s-7s-Kd and shane147 added to his chip lead becoming the first to five million in chips.

3:30am- Shorted stacked and nowhere to run, iaperle out in 13th place

Down to his last 306,830 in chips and blinds of 8000/16000, antes 1600 coming into his stack, iaperle shoved UTG, got - DoV - to fold but scarface_79 was sitting behind the beautiful marble desk welding a big gun and made the call. Watch the hand play out below:

3:22am- arourel out in 14th place

Players are busting faster than we can keep up. The upshot of all of this is that arourel is out in 14th place for $3,608. How did it happen? Well, that's why we have the hand re-player.

3:20am- Lightning quick exit for Turbogeir after tangling with chip leader

shane147 has been controlling his table with constant pressure of getting all those chips in the middle despite the high stack to blinds ratio. With blinds at 6000/12000, antes 1200 shane147 once again popped an opening small blind raise of Turbogeir for 864,000. Since Turbogeir had only 382,036 he was tested for all his chips and made the right call flipping over Kd-Th versus the 5c-2c for shane147. A flop of 3d-8c-Ac gave the chip leader a flush draw which would fill with a rivered Kc. Turbogeir finishes in 15th tonight taking home $3,608.51

3:16am- icatchyou can't catch, out in 16th place

icatchu was pretty low in chips with only a quarter-million left in his stack. So, when doubledave22 came in for a raise to 28,585 and SilverSocks called, it was an easy push for icatchyou with Ah-Kh. Doubledave22 isolated and pushed SilverSocks out. It was Qc-Qh for doubledave22. The flop was at least interesting: Jh-8h-Qs. No hearts and no ten on the turn and river and icatchyou caught 16th place for $3,608.

3:11am- Dirty river sends Vaughnie34 home in 17th place

Shane147 has been welding his big stack like his Doyle Brunson icon since the tourney broke down to three tables by putting the short stacks to the test for all their chips any time he has been in a pot. Enter Vaughnie34 as he called the 108,000 chip raise from shane147 on the button with blinds at 6000/12000, antes 1200. The flop came out 9c-Kc-Jd, for the nasty river you’ll have to check out the replay below:

3:07am- FloppyN fades to the rail in 18th

MeraTrolldeg is sitting on a pile of chips at 1,080,852 before the blind versus blind battle took off between him and FloppyN who had only 134,009 after paying his blinds dues. FloppyN turned over a very strong Ad-Kc while the Jd-8h of MeraTrolldeg was certainly live. The flopped pair of jacks for MeraTrolldeg on the board of Qh-8c-Jc-3c-2s was enough to send FloppyN home in 18th place.

3:03am- Who got game?

Here at the PokerStars Blog, we don't like to get all grandiose and throw about praise where it's not warranted (unless of course we're talking about ourselves). So, we don't want to say kared69 has game...but darn if it doesn't look like it. Not only did kared69 take down the Sunday Million last May for $200,558, but the Canadian is also still alive here with 17 players remaining. Just sayin'. Somebody may have game.

2:55pm- After 12 hours...

Here's what the scoreboard looks like.

2:46pm- Bang for your $215 bucks

Here we are at the break going into the 6000/12000/1200 round. You want a good structure? You really want a good structure? With 18 players left, the average stack has an M of better than 40. The chip leader's M is 136. We may only have three tables left, but we're not going anywhere for a long time.

2:41am- The last supper for BorkBorkBork

The happy chef has served his last meal of the evening, and Vaughnie34 is feeling pretty full as a result. BorkBorkBork got his last 63,051 into the middle preflop UTG with pocket jacks (Jd-Jc) versus Vaughnie34 making the call from the big blind with As-5h. The flopped pair of aces became trips by the river on the board of Ad-Th-8c-2h-Ah and the loveable French chef is going home tonight with $3,464.17 in 24th place.

2:35am- Out-pipped for a million

How close can a one million chip pot be? Just ask Wishboone and doubledave22. Or just watch this hand play out.

2:20am-- Sorry, I don’t believe you

SliverSocks smelt something dirty under the multiple bets and raises by pffwhatever. The chip leader is there for a reason and this river call after a 3-bet by pffwhatever is a good indicator of that:

2:10am-- PokerStars.TV bringing final table highlights

Be sure to tune in (can you do that on the internet?) to PokerStars.tv as they highlight the final table of Event #1 which is sure to run into early morning for those in the states. Bust out the Fruity Pebbles, orange juice, and bacon and enjoy the highlights with breakfast in a few hours.

1:55am-- A double-up for doubledave22

After a raise from Belousov, doubledave22 re-raised preflop. Belousov three-bet, and doubledave22 moved all in with pocket Kings.

Belousov tabled Ad-Qh, and the board ran out 2c-Jh-Js-8h-7h to move doubledave22 to near the million-chip mark. Belousov was running on fumes after that hand, with only 56,976 left.

1:44am-- I would be on tilt too after this hand

Just moments after busting Ryan45, ericontilt tangled with chip leader SilverSocks in what became the biggest pot of the tournament so far. Check out this action as the winner took over a dominating chip lead in a classic cooler:

1:41am-- And...done

Ryan45 got the last of his chips in preflop with Js-8s and found one caller in ericontilt, who tabled Kh-7d.

The board ran out 9h-Ac-3c-7c-2h, and the online pro was busted while ericontilt moved up to 1,376,739 in chips.

1:34am-- That's gonna sting

Popular online player Ryan45 moved all in over the top of HemiPowerSTW's preflop re-raise, and the action looked like this:

1:30am-- Professor SilverSocks teaches a course in Power Poker

Over on table 48, it's easy to tell who's in control as tournament chip leader SilverSocks takes down blinds and antes with abandon. It's pretty easy to raise with impunity preflop when you have everyone on your table covered. Everyone on your table put together, that is. Currently the other 4 players at the table have stacks that add up to about 1.2 million, still far less than SilverSocks' 1.5 million.

1:28am-- Its down to a 45 man Sit and Go

We’re in level 20 with blinds at 3500/7000, antes 700 and an average stack of 480,000 players stacks are still well above the blinds to maneuver their chips without having to commit to a hand preflop. The difference between seventh and a final table place of sixth is over $14,000 we’ll see how that factors into play once the final table bubble comes along.

1:18am-- All alone with a million chips

That's how we describe SilverSocks right now. At a table packed with big stacks, SilverSocks dragged a pot worth more than all but two or three players' entire stacks!

From the button, SilverSocks opened with a raise to 99,999. He found one caller in HolyToledo12, who had limped in from early position. Both players checked the 7h-Js-Ks flop, and HolyToledo12 fired out 102,000 on the 4d turn.

SilverSocks called, and called again when HolyToledo12 bet out 204,000 on the 3c river. SilverSocks tabled Ac-Kd for top pair, top kicker, as HolyToledo12 showed As-Qc for a busted straight draw.

That pot left SilverSocks with more than 1.2 million in chips and left HolyToledo12 with a below-average stack for the first time in hours.

1:13am-- BadBeatKid_2 bows out in 52nd place

The recent Sunday Million champ made a great run tonight towards another six figure payday, but fell short of his bid of adding a WCOOP bracelet to his trophy room. Here's the reply of andersmeli's coin-flip turning into boat below:

1:08am-- 800K club gets another member

OBXRentals moved all in preflop with Ac-Jc, and got a little isolation in the form of a re-raise from Belousov. Belousov showed Ks-Kh, and the board ran out 5d-5g-9c-Qh-7h to ship a 280K+ pot to Belousov. He'll need the ammo, as mega-stacks Blinckme and Wishboone have been moved to his table number 966 on his left.

12:58am-- Belousov comes out above jalla79 for the last time

A short-stacked jalla79 put the last of his chips in the middle with Ks-10h against Belousov, and the 2007 WCOOP bracelet winner came out on the short end this time. Check out the action below...

12:56am-- Welcome to the top ten Wishboone.

The biggest pot of the tournament between Wishboone and former chip leader Bleialf just took place before the break. With a flop of 8c-Jh-Qd after a pre-flop re-raise by Bleialf the same action took place on the flop as Bleialf lead out for 45,000 chips and raised by Wishboone for 110,000 total. Bleialf then shoved for 377,470 leaving 117,264 behind after Wishboone called for his remaining 150,206 chips.

Wishboone: As-Qs
Bleialf: Js-Ks

The turn 7c and 8h gave Wishboone the biggest pot of the tournament and skyrocketed him into 7th place while Bleialf slipped under the average stack

12:35pm-- jalla79 holding stead, but Belousov on the rise

2007 WCOOP Pot Limit Omaha 6-max champ jalla79 has been holding steady in the middle of the pack lately, but tablemate Belousov has been on the rise, moving into the top 20 by chipping up and picking up the pots no one else seems interested in.

12:24am--Every little bit counts.

Chip leader shane147 has slowly increased his lead on the field and now finds himself alone above the 800K mark. There haven't been many big pots dragged by the big stack, but it seems like every third hand a small pile of chips is being pushed his way.

He just keeps chipping up through the field, picking up orphaned blinds and antes and giving them a nice warm home - his stack.

12:14am-- Nope, not stealing

On_poker’s open button raise to 15,000 chips with blinds at 2500/5000, ante 500 in level 18 got no respect from kesty78 in the big blind who shoved for 238,119 chips.

See who came out the victor below:

12:07am--shane147 rides a boat into the chip lead.

After finding a caller for his preflop raise, shane147 fired a bet of 12,000 into a a 40K+ pot on a flop of Jh-Jc-7d.

fivestars555 made the call to see the Qs land on the turn.

Both players checked the turn, and shane147 bet out 68,000 when the 9h came on the river. fivestars555 made the call, only to see shane147 table Qc-Jd for the turned full house.

That hand moved shane147 over the 700K mark and into the chip lead as SilverSocks, Ryan45 and HolyToledo12 all still wrangled at the same table.

12:02am-- Twelve o'clock and all is well for 91 players

We are down to under 100 in Event #1 here with 91 players left from the 7217 started runner still vying for the $212,179 first place prize. With blinds at 2000/4000, ante 400 players still have plenty of play as the average chip count is sitting on nearly 50 big blinds.

11:54pm-- Holy Guacamole, that's a big coinflip!

HolyToledo12 just secured a spot in 2nd place by winning a coin flip against Asprin1

After a preflop raise from HolyToledo12, Asprin1 moved all in over the top with 4s-4d.

HolyToledo12 had him well covered, and made the call with Ad-Kd. The suspense was handled right off the bat as the flop came down 3c-Ac-10c, and Asprin1 was looking for one of two remaining cards to save his tournament life. No help on the turn or river, and Asprin1 was dealt a WCOOP-ending headache by HolyToledo12.

If that's not a table of death, I'm a bridge champion!

Chip leader SilverSocks has just been moved to a table with two other huge stacks. After the elimination of Asprin1, SilverSocks has taken his seat immediately to the right of Ryan45 and HolyToledo12.

11:45pm-- Jalla79 trips into a big pot just before the break

On the last hand before the break, jalla79 picked a great time to defend his blind against Belousuv.

With blinds at 1500/3000 and a 300 ante, jalla79 defends his big blind to Belousuv's preflop raise, with spectacular results. Check out the action below...

11:32pm-- Bleialf comes into the kitchen and shows the chef who’s boss

At table 966 with several stacks above average: vui-qua-di (16th in chips), BorkBorkBork (41st), Peter_rey (26th), and Blinckme (20th), Bleialf has moved up to second in chips wrestling the chip lead away from BorkBorkBork, who has taken several hits to his stack lately.

11:29pm--SilverSocks sitting in a golden position

Chip leader SilverSocks just tightened his grip on the chip lead, taking down a 115,300 pot without showdown against MeraTrolldeg after a preflp re-raise from MeraTrolldeg, SilverSocks put in a big raise on a flop of Kh-10d-8c.

MeraTrolldeg thought for a while before mucking, as SilverSocks moved over the 600,000 chip mark

11:23pm-- BadBeatKid_2 is an Ocho Cinco fan and still in the hunt

The recent Sunday Million champ has slipped below average in chips (currently sitting with 126,000 while in level 16 and blinds at 2000/4000, ante 400. Hopefully the Chad Ocho Cinco (or artist formerly known as Chad Johnson) fan will pick up a timely double-up soon.

11:16pm-- Former WCOOP PLO champ is moving up in chips

No stranger to being in a big tournament late, jalla79 is steadily gaining chips and currently sits in 18th place. The 2007 WCOOP Pot Limit Omaha champ (read the PokerStarsBlog write-up on the event here) is looking for his second WCOOP bracelet in a 6-max event. He’ll have two less cards to do it with, but has managed to do fine without the wrap straight flush draws so far.

10:58pm-- Looking for another final table

Still alive with 156 players is well-known player TheTownhouse. We here at the PokerStars Blog know the name from a previous WCOOP final table. Two years ago, the Townhouse final tabled the WCOOP $200 HORSE event. At this hour, TheTownhouse has about a half-average stack. With the comfortable structure, he's not in bad shape and still has a shot at another final table.

11:01pm-- The chef slices up a big win and takes the cake

BorkBorkBork and vui-qua-di tangle in a big pot for the tournament chip lead. Take a look at the results below:

10:46pm--From Astoria with chips

Well-known online player Ryan45 has been in the Top 100 players for some time tonight, but he's now making a play for the chip lead. At this hour, with 165 players remaining, Ryan45 is second in chips with just under 400,000 at the 1000/2000/200 level.

10:41pm-- Could get messy in the kitchen

Two of the top chip stacks have been moved to Table 966. vui-qua-di (currently 3rd in chips) and BorkBorkBork (currently 5th) of muppets fame are sitting side-by-side for some possible future big pots.

10:23pm-- The storm that fizzled

On one American coast, Tropical Storm Hanna is getting ready to jump ashore. It had all the promise of becoming a big ol' honkin' hurricane. And then it didn't.

Somewhere in that same country, Hevad "RaiNKhAN" Khan may be feeling much the same way. I'm mean, how good could he have felt when he flopped two pair?

Just watch.

10:20pm-- Team PokerStars Pros Live Radio

Join Team PokerStars Pros Tom McEvoy, Gavin Griffin, Vicky Coren, and Chris Moneymaker at the final table for a live radio broadcast as they break down our final six tonight as they play for the $212,179.81 first place prize.

10:07pm-- RaiNKhAN a storm of activity

Eighty thousandand. Forty thousand. Fifty thousand. All-in. You try to keep track of RaiNKhAN's chip stack. Team PokerStars Pro Hevad Khan just played a pot for all his chips. We'll leave it to you to watch how it turned out.

9:50pm-- Coren ready for a bunch of muffins.

Team PokerStars Pro Victoria Coren may not be in this event anymore, but she's not at all cranky about it. She's got a plan! She just told the PokerStars Blog:

Played one, cashed one! Yay! It could be said that 527th spot in the opening event of the WCOOP, for $461, is not the most glorious result in poker history - I don't think anyone's going to be carving it into a Hall Of Fame. But hey, don't knock it. All you've got to do in this game is survive. A profit's a profit. As soon as we got in the money, a fellow British player on my table, who went by the great name of Auric Goldfinger, pointed out that (with today's miserable exchange rate for the pound against the dollar) you couldn't get much more than a Starbucks muffin for 1080th place. But I like muffins. And you can get a lot of them for $461. I may be eating nothing else for the next week. (But this is nothing to do with the tournament. I didn't eat anything else last week either.)

I love 6-handed NLH tournaments. You get to play so many more pots than you do at a full table, and I get itchy for action. When I cashed in the WSOP in 2007, that was in the $5000 6-handed Holdem. I remember it mostly because Tobey Maguire was the next player out after me, so I got to stand behind him in the money queue and reflect that yes, film stars really are shorter in real life.

Of course, the joy of the WCOOP (as opposed to a live tournament) is that it's easier to be patient, since you're in your own home and can watch TV at the same time. I was watching "The Tudors". We're at the point in the story where Henry VIII has started chopping off the heads off priests who disagree with him. I found that very inspiring as I played a poker tournament. Really helped me to feel bloodthirsty. If only we'd been at the end of the series, where I assume he's going to chop off the head of his own wife, I reckon I'd have made the final.
Good game, Vicky. Enjoy the muffins.

Thanks to this huge full house against the pocket queens of cdg1912, jaja82 has a commanding 100,000 chip lead over LordTBird at the moment.

Currently sitting at 81st in chips, BadBeatKid_2 isn’t sitting on the $175,000 he won on July 7th while taking down 7130 players in the Sunday Million. I’m sure he will find a place is his account for another $200K should he win tonight. Story on his Sunday Million win found here.

9:08pm--We'll have fun-fun-fun 'til LordTBird takes our chips away

LordTBird just vaulted past 270,000 and into the chip lead after this hand went down versus mcatdog:

9:04pm--Perhaps Khan would make a better professional video game player

Observers started talking about Halo 3 and Hevad “RaiNKhAN” Khan replied, "I'm awesome with the warthog."

He now sits comfortably with 76,000 chips

8:52pm--QuickPay takes quick chip lead

It didn’t last long. Almost as soon as QuickPay had reached 230,000 chips -- briefly passing polpolpol -- he lost more than half his stack on a cooler.

andersmeli raised to 2,450 from the button and QuickPay called in the small blind. After a flop of Kd-7d-9c, QuickPay led out for 4,000, andersmeli raised to 11,500 and QuickPay called. The turn brought a third diamond in the 4d and QuickPay checked. andersmeli bet 16,700, QuickPay check-raised to 39,000 and andersmell pushed all in. QuickPay called with Jd-9d for a flush, but andersmeli held Ad-6d for the nut flush.

A meaningless 6c fell on the river and andersmeli was up to 205,000 while QuickPay fell to 130,000.

8:49pm--Our beneficent leader

It's no fun sitting to the left of the chip leader. Usually, anyway. Right now luckybucket9 occupies that seat, made all the more uncomfortable by the fact that the leader -- polpolpol -- has more than 225,000 at the moment, while luckybucket9 only has about 10,000.

Just now there was a hand in which the table folded around to polpolpol in the small blind. "here" he typed, "a present from me," and he folded, giving luckybucket9 a walk in his big blind.

"yeah! 8-4 won. thank you," typed luckybucket9 in response.

8:38pm--Khan gets his aces cracked

Hevad “RaiNKhAN” Khan doubled up goatzilla when the two got it all in preflop and goatzilla hit a set. After this hand, Khan is down to 43,000.

8:35pm--468 players left

As we approach the end of Level 11, there are 468 players left on 79 tables. The average stack is 46,262, with our chip leader, polpolpol, sitting on 216,337. All players left are guaranteed at least $505.19 for their efforts today.

8:27pm--Coren out in 527th place

Down to 9,648 in chips, Team PokerStars Pro Vicky Coren pushed her stack in preflop with Ac-2c and colombusval called with Ad-Kh. The board was a tease for Coren as it came 5h-Ah-8c-2d-8d, giving her two pair and then counterfeiting her.

8:23pm--Hevad Khan could have a future as a politician

When asked what he thought about the WSOP final table delay by an observer, Hevad "RainKhAN" Khan replied, “Might be good, might be bad, it all depends upon how the results turn out. That’s the gamble of trying something new!”

8:19pm--Vicky Coren is not a porn star…

…but she apparently did try to make an X-rated film. Observers are chatting her up at Table 120 about her career, including one book she wrote called Once More With Feeling about her experience trying to direct an erotic picture.

“I made an x-rated movie (directing! not performing!) and it's the story of making the movie,” she told the observers. More information about the book can be found at http://www.victoriacoren.com/main/books.

tydean had put some distance between himself and the rest of the field during this hour, and was threatening to reach the 200,000-chip mark before the conclusion of Level 10. Then came a bit of a hiccup for the chip leader.

tydean raised from under the gun to 1,635, then DesertQuest reraised to 5,000 from the button. It folded back to tydean who quickly shoved his imposing stack of 180,000 all in. DesertQuest made the call with his remaining 25,000 chips.

tydean showed Ad-4h, well behind DesertQuest's Ac-Kh. The board ran out 2c-Tc-Jc-5s-Qd, giving DesertQuest the Broadway straight and a nice pot of 62,546. After that hand, tydean was still in second place with 154,667.

7:45pm--Tizzle 10 finishes off Allingomes

Team PokerStars Pro Alexandre Gomes had managed to build his crippled stack up to nearly 8,000, but finally pushed at the wrong time.

On his final hand, Gomes shoved his 7,928 stack from the cutoff with Jh-Td and was called by Tizzle 10 on the button with Ac-Qs. The board bricked off with 5c-Kd-4h-4d-8s and Gomes was done in 808th place.

7:29pm—Victor Ramdin rams in his last chips

Down to less than 1,500, Team PokerStars pro pushed all in preflop with Qh-Jh and saw a flop he couldn’t have liked. Ramdin finished in 1,020th place.

7:52pm--Coren moving up

Short-stacked for most of the tournament, Team PokerStars Pro Vicky Coren has had a nice upward trend in the last hour. She’s gone from under 7,000 to more than 17,000 in the last 15 minutes. Here was a key hand in that process:

7:26pm--Alexandre Gomes crippled

Earlier he caught a straight to bust kings. Recently, Team PokerStars Pro Alexandre Gomes lost with cowboys to find himself crippled.

Gomes was in the small blind with 13,794 chips and raised Tizzle 10’s big blind to 1,050. Tizzle, with more than 12,000 behind, called. The flop came Td-4h-6d and Gomes opened for 1,200. Tizzle 10 quickly pushed all in and Gomes just as quickly called. The flop had been sweet for Tizzle 10 as he held 6s-4s for two pair against Gomes’ Kd-Kc. The turn and river missed and Gomes, and after that hand he was left with less than 1,000 chips.

Gomes has since managed to double up a couple of times and now has more than 5,000 chips.

7:21pm--andersmeli surges ahead

andersmeli flopped a set of eights, knocking out MORIÑA who had flopped a set of threes. MORIÑA had been in the top ten for much of the early going today. That hand vaulted andersmeli to 80,028, near the chip leaders.

7:15pm--Riding the bubble

The short stacks were playing cautiously on the bubble. At Victor Ramdin's table, bjar-44 was grinded down to under 1,000 and kept stalling and folding.

Thepunisher7 was giving him a bit of a hard time and Ramdin -- he of the 1,300-chip stack -- chimed in with, "hey don't laugh at the short stack that's not fair."

"Not laughing at him just the situation," thepunisher7 replied. Bjar-44 responded with, "microdonk, sry guys."

Bjar-44 and any microdonks still left in were able to collect $303.11 as the bubble just burst. Bjar-44 was eliminated in 1071st on the next hand as were many others. We are now under 1,000 players.

7:10pm--Twenty to the money

Just 1,100 players remain and 1,080 of those will get paid.

7:02 pm--2007 event winner continues quest for second bracelet

Winner of last year's WCOOP Event No. 13 ($500+$30 pot-limit hold'em), mig.com started well in today's event. For a while during the third hour mig.com was hovering inside the top 20 on the leader board. As we're approaching the next break, mig.com just took a 9,000-plus chip pot off of DanMcC31 to bounce back up to almost 29,000. mig.com currently sits with 26,848, still comfortably above the average stack size.

Only two players -- spawng and kwob20 -- have ever won two bracelets in the previous six years of the WCOOP.

6:55pm--First six-figure player

As we approach the four-hour mark and the money bubble, Mreki88 is our first player to hit six figures with a stack of 100,324. Currently there are about 1,150 players left. The top 1,080 finishers will get paid.

6:44pm—The shark is done

Humberto Brenes had the kicker, but got outflopped and his tournament is over. Here is the hand that busted the Team PokerStars Pro in 1185th place:

6:37pm--Coren survives all in

Vicky Coren just doubled up when she got her 2,770 stack all in with pkb6786 before the flop. Coren was well ahead with Ah-Th versus 7d-8d, and when the board came 3d-Kc-5h-2c-9c she finished the hand with 5,940.

6:34pm--Mrdawwe's demise

Not too long after those series of hits, one-time chip leader MrDawwe's day was done. Here's how it happened:

6:14pm--Short stacks take big bites out of Mrdawwe

Former chip leader Mrdawwe has taken a series of hits recently -- all confrontations versus shorter stacks in which he came out on the wrong end.

First came a blind versus blind confrontation in which MrDawwe lost more than 11,000 to KINGcupido after the latter flopped a straight. A little later, Mrdawwe picked up pocket kings, only to find himself up against Rocket_Depot's pocket aces. Depot doubled his stack to 10,645 on that hand.

On the very next hand after that, jasvro, down to just 2,405, doubled through with pocket sixes against Mrdawwe's Kc-7c. Shortly after that flurry, Mrdawwe found himself down to the 9,000-chip mark after losing yet another hand.

Like sands through the hourglass so are the sizes of our chip stacks.

6:07pm--Alexandre Gomes makes a move

Team PokerStars Pro Alexandre "Allingomes" Gomes just won a nice pot by cracking a big pair with a straight. He now has more than 18,000 chips. Here is how the hand played out:

6:04pm--Translator to Table 27

The railbird love for the shark is immense. Players keep sending Humberto Brenes well wishes in Spanish and he responds in kind. His stack is getting mucho grande as he has climbed up to 17K.

5:37pm--Ramdin doubles up

Team PokerStars Pro Victor Ramdin, down to 3,105, decided it was time to make a stand with Jh-Qd. With the blinds at 100/200, Ramdin raised to 600 from the cutoff, and was called by tigertl888. The flop came jack-high -- Jd-10c-6d -- and when tigertl888 bet 4,800, Ramdin quickly called with his remaining chips.

Tigertl888 turned over Kh-9d for an inside straight draw and overcard. The turn was the 4s and the river the Ah, and Ramdin survived. He now has 6,310, while tigertl888 has slipped to 11,032.

5:34pm--Kevin "BeLOWaBOVe" Saul eliminated

Poker pro Kevin Saul had earlier accumulated a nice stack of more than 12,000 chips, but was down below 6,000 when he was finally felted. In the hand, Saul and McFondu both called 200 to see a flop of 6s-9s-Ah. McFondu, with 10,300 behind him, led out for 600, Saul raised to 1,500, McFondu re-raised to 2,500 and Saul pushed all in. The hands were As-8s for Saul, giving him a pair of aces and nut flush draw, and Ad-9d for McFondu, giving him top two pair. The 5c on the turn also gave Saul a gutter ball straight draw, but the brickly 3c hit the river and he was out in 2,147th place.

5:21pm--He messed with the shark, bro

Humberto Brenes and sTaNIEy84 tangled again, with Brenes eclipsing the 10,000 mark after taking down the pot uncontested.

5:19pm--Ranking the pros

Railbirds have been asking Team PokerStars pro Vicky Coren her opinions regarding various high-profile pros. So far, her responses indicate fellow Team member Daniel Negreanu is high on her list, along with Phil Ivey ("he's some kind of special genius," says Coren).

Coren has yet to get much going today, but continues to hang on with just over 4,400 -- a bit more than half the current average stack size of 8,524.

5:08pm--Mrdawwe maintains early chip lead

Mrdawwe has been our chip leader for most of the first two-plus hours of play. As we begin Level 5, he still sits at the top of the leaderboard with more than 36,000 chips. Here's a recent hand in which Mrdawwe illustrates one of the benefits of having the big stack -- namely, increased opportunities to gamble:

5:01pm--Wild play fails WiLDmAn75

After winning another all in, WiLDmAn75's tablemates began joking in the chat box that perhaps he was destined to reach another WCOOP final table. Alas, his luck finally ran out.

Having built his stack up to 4,926, WiLDmAn75 raised to 400 from middle position and was called by badbeatdjw from the small blind. The flop came 3c-Jh-2h. Badbeatdjw checked and WiLDmAn75 made a continuation bet of 475. When badbeatdjw check-raised to 1,100, WiLDmAn75 pushed all in, and badbeatdjw -- having his opponent well-covered -- quickly made the call, turning over 2s-2d for the flopped set. WiLDmAn75 was in bad shape with Kd-10d. A queen on the turn and the case deuce on the river sealed it, and WiLDmAn75 is out in 3,291st. Meanwhile, badbeatdjw has now chipped up to 17,611.

4:57pm--Less than 3,000 players remain

Two and a half hours in we are quickly losing players. More than half the field is gone. Blinds will be 100/200 in 15 minutes.

4:37pm--A dagger jack for Tom McEvoy

A short-stacked Tom McEvoy was just eliminted in 3,642nd place after flopping a straight.

The Team PokerStars Pro, starting the hand with only 1,589 behind, raised to 300 preflop and aconsuma called. After a flop of Kh-9c-Jd, McEvoy bet 600 and aconsuma put him all in. McEvoy quickly called with Qc-Ts for a flopped straight and aconsuma showed Kc-Js for top two pair. The turn was the Jh, filling up aconsuma and eliminating the 1983 World Series of Poker Main Event Champion.

4:28pm--Big Slick trumps Big Chick

Team PokerStars Pro Alexandre "Allingomes" Gomes just doubled up with A-K.

Gomes, who started the hand with 2,885 chips, opened for 300 with blinds at 50/100. Kalif27, who had 6,653 chips, re-raised to 900. Gomes raised again to 2,500 and kalif27 put him all in. The hands were Ac-Ks for Gomes and As-Qh for kalif27. The board ran out 9s-6s-8h-3d-7c and Gomes finished the hand with 5,820.

4:24pm--Last year's Event No. 1 runner-up hanging on

WiLDmAn75, runner-up in this same WCOOP event last year, has not been able to build chips early on, hovering below his starting stack of 3,000 through the first four levels. He recently found himself all in against badbeatdjw. Here is what happened:

4:17pm--Don't mess with the shark, bro

Since his earlier double up, Humberto Brenes has tangled with sTaNIEy84 in several smallish pots and the Costa Rican has gotten the better of most of those match ups. His stack is now up to 8,000. This prompted one observer to type in the chat box, "stan stop messing with the shark bro."

4:07pm--Griffin no welcome mat

Player ace_sthlm recently was moved to Team PokerStars pro Gavin Griffin's table, taking a seat to Griffin's left. A couple of hands after arriving, the table folded around to Griffin in the small blind who raised to 150, forcing ace_sthlm to fold his BB.

Typed ace_sthlm in response: "thats my 'welcome to the table'?" ace_sthlm currently has 5,490, ahead of the average chip stack of 4,400. Griffin has 3,897.

4:05pm--Here comes the shark

Humberto "HumbertoB" Brenes just doubled up. The Team PokerStars Pro limped for 50 and saw a flop of 3c-6h-3s with several players. sTaNIEy84 bet 150 of his 10,300 stack and Brenes raised it to 700, leaving him 2,600 behind. sTaNIEy84 re-raised all in and Brenes wasted no time in calling. sTaNIEy84 showed Kc-6s for a pair of sixes, while Brenes showed Ad-3d for trip threes. The turn was the 9s and the river was the Td boosting the shark's stack up to 6,600.

4:01pm--Now under 5,000 players

More than 2,200 players have been eliminated in the first 90 minutes of play

3:54pm--Making something out of nothing

Team PokerStars pro Hevad "RaiNKhaN" Khan just added some chips with a less than stellar starting hand. With blinds 25/50, Khan open-raised to 150 from the cutoff, and BKS77 called from the big blind. The flop came 6s-Ah-8h. BKS77 checked, Khan bet 150, and BKS77 called. Both checked the Kc on the turn.

The river brought the 2s. BKS77 bet 175, Khan raised to 550, and BKS77 called. Khan showed the 6h-2h -- he'd flopped a pair and a flush draw, then improved to two pair on the river. BKS77 mucked. Khan is up to 3,975, while BKS77 has 4,467.

3:48pm--ElkY eliminated

Already down to half his stack, Betrand "ElkY" Grospellier, a Team PokerStars Pro and champion of the 2008 PokerStars Carribean Adventure, called all in with a straight and flush draw and missed both. He was eliminated in 5,728th place. Here is the hand:

3:16pm--Set over set propels Greel13 to early lead

Greel13 has jumped out to an early chip lead after taking down a monster pot versus Europa12. With the blinds at 15/30, Mr.Kev22 limped from under the gun, then Greel13 raised to 120 from the cutoff. Europa14 called from the button, the blinds folded, and Mr.Kev called as well.

The flop came 2c-5c-Kd. Mr.Kev22 checked, and Greel13 fired out 240. Europa12 called, and Mr.Kev22 got out of the way. The turn was the 10s. This time Greel13 bet 510, and Europa12 raised to 1,230. Greel13 quickly pushed all in, a total of 7,295. Europa, whom Greel13 had covered, just as quickly called. Greel13 showed Ks-Kh for top set, while Europa12 had 5h-5d for a lesser set. The river was the 8s, and Europa12 was out.

After that hand, Greel13 found himself atop the leaderboard with 13,760.

3:12pm--No luck for First Family of PokerStars

After Chad Brown was eliminated his fiancee was not far behind. Vanessa "LadyMaverick" Rousso, who finished second in the 2007 WCOOP Main Event, busted out in 6,447th place.

3:07pm--Prize pool exceeds $1.4 million

Registration has closed. A total of 7,217 runners came out for Event No. 1, creating a total prize pool of $1,443,400, a sizable jump from the $922,000 prize pool for this same event last year. The last player standing this time around will net a cool $212,179.81 for his or her efforts and 1,080 players will be paid. There were almost exactly 600 bustouts in Level 1. Currently about 6,500 remain.

2:59pm--Chad Brown crippled and eliminated

Team PokerStars Pro Chad "ChadBrownPRO" Brown found himself with kicker problems in an early hand and was crippled. He was eliminated a short time later in 6,700th place. You can see the hand below:

2:46pm--Registration still open

We are about halfway through the first 30-minute level of Event No. 1 of the World Championship of Online Poker, the six-handed no-limit hold'em event ($200+$15). Registration is still open until the end of the first level, but already over 7,000 have registered -- a good deal more than the 4,610 who played this same event in the 2007 WCOOP.

2:45pm-- No picking on NoMercy

Down to 2,500 chips in the early going, Team PokerStars Pro Isabelle "NoMercy" Mercier sent her table a message, and it sounded a lot like, "Don't try to push me around." Except with a French-Canadian accent. You can see the hand play out below.

2:30pm--And we're off

With blinds at 10/20 and starting stacks of 3,000, the first event of the 2008 World Championship of Online Poker has begun.

PokerStars Sunday Million Live Blog (8-24-08)

Sunday, August 24th, 2008

For a little fun today, we're going to live blog the PokerStars Sunday Million. Over the next eleven hours or so, Carol Kline, Johnny Kampis, Jen Newell, and John Hartness will be on hand to bring you the latest information on the Sunday Million. Have a story for us? E-mail to blog@pokerstars.com. Here's the Sunday Warm-Up Live Blog.

2:43am - NFrost_10 takes down the Sunday Million!

After making a deal which left $30,000 on the table, NFrost_10 wasted no time in claiming the chip lead from es_dame. After jockeying for position for a few hands, all the chips went in the middle on a flop of Js-9s-7s. Es_dame showed Jc-4s for top pair with a flush redraw, while NFrost_10 tabled 9d-8s for middle pair with a better redraw. The 2s on the turn sealed the deal for NFrost_10, and the 6h on the river was irrelevant as NFrost_10 picked up a total of $170,900.91 for his Sunday Million Victory. Congratulations to NFrost_10 and all the players who cashed in this week's Sunday Million!

Check back here soon for the recap of all the final table action.

2:40 am - Let's Make a Deal!

With chip stacks nearly equal, the two remaining players agreed to an even chop of first and second-place money. With $30k left in the middle for the eventual winner, es_dame and NFrost_10 each claimed $140,900.91 for their tournament. $30,000 is not peanuts, so the players played on.

2:35am - karelli out in 3rd, discussions of a deal break out

NFrost_10 raised preflop, karelli reraised all-in with Ac-7s, and NFrost_10 called with As-Jh.
The board came out 9s-5c-Jd-7h-10d, and it was over for karelli in 3rd place for $84,638.40. Once play got down to heads-up, the tournament was paused while the players discussed a deal.

2:30am - Players on break - es_dame in chip lead with 3 to go

With only three players remaining, es_dame has a significant chip lead, with nearly 40 million in chips. The stacks for the remaining three players are -

es_dame - 39,207,518
NFrost_10 - 25,311,860
karelli - 11,050,622

2:26am - es_dame back in the lead, Duffs#1fan headed home in 4th place

After busting SonnyInMtl in 5th place, es_dame took back over the chip lead and set his sights firmly on first place. His next victim was Duffs#1fan, who got the last of his chips in the middle with the nut flush draw on a board of Js-3h-8s. Duffs#1fan led out at the flop, es_dame rasied, Duffs#1fan moved all in over the top with As-9s, and es_dame called with pocket threes for bottom set. No spade on the turn or river for Duffs#1fan, and he finished in 4th place for a $69,524.40 payday.

2:21am - SonnyInMtl heads home in 5th, es_dame reclaims the chip lead

SonnyInMtl shoved the last of his chips in the middle with Kh-Qc on a flop of 10s-10h-6c. Es_dame made the call with Ks-6s, a nightmare hand for SonnyInMtl. Looking for a king or a queen, SonnyInMtl found only the 5s-7h on the turn and river, and was eliminated in 5th place, good for $54,410.40.

2:17am - lecharentais busted in 6th place

On a short stack for much of the final table, lecharentais moved all-in preflop time with 8h-6h. Karelli called with Kc-10c, and the board came Qs-3s-7d-5c-5d. Karelli's king kicker was good, and lecharentais was out in 6th place, taking home $39,296.40.

2:14am - The chip lead, they are a'changing.

Duffs#1fan took the chip lead into the final table, but a big elimination by es_dame vaulted him into the chip lead for a few hands. Then NFrost_10 took over the chip lead by moving in over the top of Duffs#1fan's preflop raises. The top three spots on the leader board stayed close as the players all made their moves at the $185,902.20 first place money.

2:08am - And then there were six - kidkanada99 busted in 7th

On the short stack, kidkanada99 went to the rail in 7th when he tangled with es_dame and Duffs#1fan. Kidkanada99 was all in after calling the big blind, and es_dame completed the small blind with Kd-Jc. Duffs#1fan checked the big blind, and the two chip leaders checked down the board of 10d-3c-4s-10h-2s. Es_dame's K-J was good, and kidkanada99 was frozen out in 7th place for $26,449.50.

2:04am - hidden1s out in 8th

SonnyInMtl pushed all-in preflop, and hidden1s called. Several players went into their time bank before folding, but it was heads-up to the flop. SonnyInMtl had Ah-Kh, and hidden1s showed Ac-Js. The board came 9c-7h-5c-Ad-6d, and hidden1s was out in 8th for $17,381.10.

1:57am - afiopeneyes2 busted in 9th place

The short stack to start the final table, afiopeneyes2 wasted no time getting the last if his chips in the middle with Kd-Qc. NFrost_10 made the call with Ad-3d, and the board ran out 4s-6d-5s-6h-5d. NFrost_10's kicker played, and afiopeneyes2 was the first casualty of the final table, finishing in 9h place for $10,579.80. NFrost_10 moved solidly into third place with that hand, closing the gap between himself and the chip leaders.

1:54am - Roolender's tournament ends and the final table is set

On the final table bubble, es_dame held a slight lead over NFrost_10, but the bubble wasn't to last long. After just a couple of hands of hand-for-hand play, Roolender all-in with K-Q of clubs versus A-10 of diamonds of Duffs#1fan. The board came 4d-5h-Ah-3c-9c, and it was over for Roolender in 10th place for $7557.00. Duffs#1fan took over the chip lead as the final table began, holding a slim lead over es_dame and NFrost_10.

1:50am - The Final Table draws ever nearer

As the remaining players sniff the final table and the big paydays that await there, the play tightens up with lots of all-in moves preflop, but very few calls. In one hand that bucked the trend, SonnyInMtl doubled through lacharentis with pocket nines against lecharentis' 7-6. Then all heck broke loose and we went from 12 players down to 10 in the blink of an eye. Or two hands, but some people blink slowly.

First off, VegaNevada moved the last of his chips in the middle with Ac-Qh, running into Duffs#1fan holding pocket Jacks. The Jacks held up, and VegaNevada was done in 12th place, good for a $7,557.00 payday. Then FatHeadMF went all-in with Ks-Jc and met with Ad-Js. The virtual dealer gave them Ac-4s-Qc-6h-9d, and it was all over for FatHeadMF in 11th place.

1:42am - afiopeneyes doubles up

afiopeneyes2 finally pushed 1,871,300 into the middle with As-10c and was called by SonnyInMtl who had pocket queens. The board showed Ks-3s-Ah-Ac-3d, and afiopeneyes2 doubled up. Roolender, who had lost a significant number of chips since moving into second place, doubled through VegaNevada when Roolender's pocket sixes held up against VegaNevada's A-Q. No help on the board for VegaNevada, and Roolender moved back into second place behind es_dame.

1:35am - Roolender making a move up the leader board

afiopeneyes2 doubled through es_dame with A-10 versus pocket fives when a 10 came on the flop. The board of 3c-10h-3d-8h-6c didn't help, and es_dame lost some chips. in a pot of nearly 5 million. While that was happening, Roolender became the second player to cross the 10 million chip mark, moving into second place.

1:29am - fast action after the break

Just after the break, Outfielder71 moved all-in with Ah-Js against the pocket eights of karelli. The board gave nothing to the shorter stack when it came 10d-2s-Kh-Kc-7d. Outfielder71 was forced to accept 15th place and $5,289.90 for it.

Maggie32198 fell just seconds later when Roolender's pocket Queens held up against maggie32198's Ad-Qd on a board of Kh-4d-6d-7s-9s. Maggie32198 had to settle for close but no cigar on the final table, finishing in 15th. At almost the same moment, uchi14 headed to the rail in 14th for $5,289.90

1:25am - Slower play but accelerated attempts to catch chip leader

After taking out several players in the last hour, kidkanada99 has moved into second place in the chip counts, within striking distance of es_dame's big stack.

At the same time, a short-stacked waltby made a stand from early position with pocket fives, and FatHeadMF made the call from the big blind with Ac-9h. The flop of As-Jc-Kd left waltby drawing thin, but the Qh on the turn added a few additional outs to a chop. The 7c on the river wasn't one of them, and waltby was eliminated in 16th place for $3,778,50.

With the next money jump of just over $1,500 kicking in, play slowed a bit and players went on a 5-minute break.

1:15am - Commanding chip lead held by es_dame with over 10 million in chips

With two tables remaining, it was clearly es_dame in the lead, but NFrost_10 and VegaNevada were both making a serious attempt to catch up.

Speaking of chip leaders, the chip leader coming into this level is the first casualty of these final two tables. Moving all-in on a steal attempt with Ks-3s preflop. Kidkanada99 limped in with pocket sixes and called ahhhhhsht's raise. The board ran out Qh-4d-3c-7d-4s, and kidkanada99 moved one step closer to the final table, while ahhhhhsht took 18th place and a $3,778.50 cash.

es_dame was not to be outdone in the elimination game, taking out laafii just seconds later. laafii moved all-in from the big blind with pocket threes after es_dame raised from the button. es_dame quickly called with Ad-Js and hit an ace on the flop to send laafii home in 17th place with $3,778.50.

12:55am - Final 23 players trying to catch es_dame

One player who will no longer be in that hunt is panchita69, who moved all-in over the top of northerngent's preflop raise with Ac-Jd, only to find SonnyInMtl holding pocket aces in the small blind. Nothing unexpected happened, and panchita69 was done in 23rd for a $3,022.80 prize.

The next to fall in a flurry of bustouts was puffinmypurp when he moved all-in over the top of afiopeneyes2 with Qh-9h. afiopeneyes2 tabled pocket sevens, and the board ran out 8s-2h-Ks-6d-3c. puffinmypurp was done in 22nd place.

Nuscas left the party next when he and kidkanada99 tangled for a final time. Nuscas open-shoved preflop with pocket sixes, and kidkanada99 made the call with Ac-Qh. The ace on the flop made things tough on Nuscas, and the running broadway cards made a straight for kidkanada99 and left Nuscas out in 21st.

northerngent was next to get in on the action, moving all-in with Ah-Kh and finding himself in a classic race against VegaNevada who held pocket jacks. The flop of 5d-7s-9h was no help to either player, but the Jh on the turn not only gave VegaNevada a set but gave northerngent a flush draw. The 7h on the river was a heart northerngent did not want to see, as it gave him the flush but filled up VegaNevada. northerngent went to the rail in 20th place.

And all the while, chip leader es_dame stays out front, claiming more chips for his growing virtual stacks when his As-Kh held up against pokrjoker78's Ah-Jd on a board of 5d-Qd-Qs-8h-3h. pokerjoker78's elimination in 19th sent the remaining players to the final two tables, while pokrjoker78 picked up $3,022.80, just before the next pay jump.

12:40am - Down to 3 tables, final table inches closer

The chip leader of only a few minutes ago, ahhhhhsht took a hit in a pot with karelli when pocket deuces lost a coinflip to karelli's Kc-Js.

Aceupmyslv7 went to the rail in 27th place when VegaNevada had not only an Ace but a six up his sleeve. All the money went in on the 2h-3s-6s flop and Aceupmyslv7's 5c-7d couldn't catch the four for the straight as VegaNevada had top pair, top kicker and improved to two pair on the river. Aceupmyslv7 picked up $3,022.80 for his finish.

Next to fall was highfloor33, who was the micro-stack as the hand began and whose 10s-6s was no good against NFrost_10's Ac-3s. After picking up a pair of sixes on the turn, it was NFrost_10 who made top pair and kept it to win the hand. highfloor33 finished in 26th place.

On table 430, es_dame continued the run and broke the 10 million chip mark, a 6 million chip lead over the nearest competitor.

Raynee headed to the rail in 25th place when his QhQs was cracked by NFrost_10's pocket eights on a board of 8c-3s-10h-2d-7s. The two-outer sent Raynee to the rail in 25th place.

Shortly thereafter, waltby won a coin flip in decisive fashion when he called IveGotToejam's all in preflop with pocket tens to IveGotToejam's Ah-Jh. A ten on the flop and another on the river made for a decisive exit for IveGotToejam, who got $3,022.80 for 24th place. (He can now attend to that toejam problem.)

12:25am - ahhhhhsht returns from break with chip lead

Coming back from break, there has been no shortage of action. A new table for ashhhhhsht, but the chip lead remains his to defend.

TeamSwindler was the first player to go after the break when his As-Qd went all in preflop against Duffs#1fan, who had pocket 9's. The board came 2c-3s-10s-7s-Jd, and TeamSwindler was eliminated in 35th place.

As play is fast and furious at the last four tables, es_dame moved up the chip ladder when a set of Aces flopped to bust Jesper_H. es_dame now sits in second place behind ahhhhhsht.

12:11am--Roolender ruling Table 2

Roolender eliminated another player at Table 2 after flopping trips with As-6s against the Ah-7h of Bjolle. After collecting 1.38 million from the pot, Roolender climbed to second on the leaderboard.

12:05am--His game is not in the crapper

Ahhhhhsht has flushed away several opponents at his table and is now our chipleader with 4.88 million. Forty-five players remain.

11:55pm--Roolender eliminates one player and cripples another

Action at Table 2 seems to have been fast and furious of late. The following three players were all-in pre-flop in this hand (chip counts are after blinds and antes): Sumpas (738,289 in chips), Roolender (1,039,722 in chips) and HitUR2outer (1,400,597 in chips). Roolender's Ah-Qd was behind HitUR2outer's Ad-Kh pre-flop, but both Roolender and Sumpas flopped a queen. Roolener's ace kicker was better than Sumpas' 9 kicker, and Roolender took down the 2.3 million chip pot. Sumpas was eliminated on the hand, and HitUR2outer dropped to 361K.

11:51pm--Who will we make jokes about now?

G Depardieu’s run has sadly ended. Grinded down to 367K, G Depardieu pushed all in with A-7, but ran into A-J. He finished in 59th place.

11:48pm--900K three-way pot won with nut no pair

SnowwwMan, who was sitting toward the top of the leaderboard with 2.4 million in chips, raised to 158K. Otto Doctor re-raised to 343K all-in, drifto88 called the all-in for less and SnowwwMan called as well. It was Ad-Qh for Otto Doctor, As-Jh for SnowwwMan and Ac-8c for drifto88. The board ran out 7h-9s-5c-7c-Kd, and Otto Doctor's nut no pair was best.

11:34pm--Manine in top three

Manine moved up the charts by winning a more than 2 million pot against former top ten chipholder CONI2AD. Manine’s jacks held up against the A-K of his opponent and Manine now has 2.35 million in chips.

11:32pm--HitUR2outer hits two big pots in a row; misses third

In the first hand, HitUR2outer's Ks-Qs was up against the Ad-Qc of crazy_teeth after HitUR2outer open shoved pre-flop. The flop was Kd-4s-As, giving HitUR2outer second pair and the nut flush draw. The 3h on the turn was no help, but the 3s on the river gave HitUR2outer the winning hand and the million chip pot.

Then, HitUR2outer raised to 100,771 pre-flop. GARFIELD25 raised to 921,034 all-in and HitUR2outer called. GARFIELD25 needed significant help, as his Ad-Jc was against HitUR2outer's As-Qh. Neither player improved, and HitUR2outer skyrocketed to 2.6 million in chips.

A few hands later, HitUR2outer got it all-in pre-flop against Roolender. HitUR2outer's 7h-7c was behind the Td-Tc of Roolender. The board ran out 6c-4s-4h-4d-5s, and HitUR2outer dropped back down to 834K.

11:24pm--Roolender finds another snowman

After getting it all-in pre-flop against WufflerL, Roolender found himself behind with Ac-8s against Kd-Kh. The flop was 7h-6d-8d, putting WufflerL in good position to double up, but the river 8c sent WufflerL to the rail. Roolender moved into the top ten on the leaderboard with 1.4 million in chips.

11:21pm--Pokrjokr78 takes chip lead

He hasn't won many big pots recently, but 134198 has chipped up considerably by aggressive play and has increased his stack from 227,589 at the break to 340,123 now, giving him a nearly 40K chip lead at the moment.

7:57pm-- Hols_think sniffs out bluff

Murdoc.73 limped in middle position and called Hols_think’s raise to 7,500. On a flop of 6h-Ad-5s, Hols_think led out for 7,500 after Murdoc.73’s check and called Murdoc.73’s check-raise to 17,500. Both players checked the turn and the river. Hols_think flopped top pair with As-Jc, which bested Murdoc.73’s Qd-Jd. Hols_think finished the hand with 240,979 in chips, which solidifies this player’s position in the top ten.

7:46pm-- Larry Bird can’t beat King Kong

At least not in poker. Pe-T raised in middle position to 4,999, Isabelle Mercier re-raised all in to 28,050 and Pe-T made the call. It was Ks-Kc for Pe-T against Mercier’s 3h-3d. The board of Tc-Kd-Ac-7s-Jc was of no help for Mercier, and she was eliminated in 1,363th place.

7:44pm--Pimplar down, kipa58 up

Two of the chipleaders just tangled in a big pot. Kipa58 raised it to 6K, BrandonPL called and pimplar re-raised it to 18K. Kipa58 then made it 40K, BrandonPL folded and pimplar called. After a flop of Ts-3s-7d, pimplar checked and kipa58 bet 76K. Pimplar tanked and folded. Pimplay was down to 123K while kips58 moved up to 201K.

7:33pm--1,580 players left

500 more until the money

7:22pm--Annekechillo flops boat and brings opponent along for the ride

SirGutShot raised to 3,125 on the button and annekechillo called from the small blind. Both players checked the 8h-9d-9h flop. After the 7d hit on the turn, annekechillo bet 2,400 and SirGutShot called. The river was the 5d. SirGutShot led out for 6,650 after annekechillo checked, but annekechillo responded by raising to 14,400. SirGutShot called the additional 7,750 and mucked after annekechillo showed 9c-8c for a flopped full house. Annekechillo currently sits atop the leaderboard with 170,640 in chips.

7:19pm--Lee Nelson eliminated

Nelson pushed all in at the wrong time. He posted his big blind of 1,200 and only originator54 called. Nelson put the rest of his 12K in chips in the middle and originator54 called instantly with 8s-8d. Nelson showed Ks-8h. A flop and turn of Qh-7h-Ad-2h made it interesting by giving Nelson a flush draw, but the 5d hit the river and Nelson was eliminated in 1,933rd place.

7:15pm--Now under 2,000 players

7:02pm--William Thorson eliminated

The Team PokerStars Pro was put out in 2,498th place after his A-K ran into K-K all-in preflop and he could not improve.

6:41pm-- William Thorson doubles up twice

Team PokerStars Pro William Thorson has doubled up twice in the last three hands. Sitting on a short stack of 2,136, Thorson pushed all in after a raise to 1,600 from JABRONI-17. Thorson’s Ac-Ad was ahead of the 8c-9c of JABRONI-17, but a flop of 8h-Kh-3s gave JABRONI-17 a bit of help; however, the turn and the river bricked out and Thorson was back to 5k in chips. Two hands later, Thorson called an all-in raise from wheels0271. It was the As-Jc of wheels0271 against Thorson’s Kd-Tc. Thorson hit a ten on the flop and the turn and the river were no help for wheels0271. Thorson had 10,694 in chips after the hand.

6:38pm--Two more Team PokerStars Pros out

Humberto Brenes and Andre Akkari have been eliminated, one right after the other. Akkari finished in 3317th place while Brenes was one spot better in 3316th place.

6:35pm--Less than 3,000 players remain

6:24pm--casa2674 surges toward the top of the leaderboard

Casa2674 has won four of the last six pots at Table 885. The first was a split 62,020 pot where casa2674 flopped the second nut flush draw on a board with two clubs, turned a Broadway draw and rivered Broadway. BrahCheeChoo rivered the same straight. In the next hand, casa2674 raised to 2,400 pre-flop and was called by mr erics21. Casa2674 bet all in on a flop of 9d-8h-7s and mr erics21 folded.

Two hands later, casa2674 defended the big blind after a button raise to 2,400 from ROONEY_DIVES. Again, casa2674 bet all in on a flop of Kh-Qs-2s. ROONEY_DIVES made the call and showed Kc-Js. Casa2674 showed Qd-2c for two pair and eliminated ROONEY_DIVES. Immediately after that elimination, casa2674 was back in action again, holding Kc-Kh against the Qs-Qc of mr erics21. The board did not help mr erics21 and he was eliminated. After this flurry of activity, casa2674 was at 78,574 in chips.

6:20pm--The 100K barrier has been broken

As the field has dwindled to nearly 3,500 players, pokerdream08 became our first player to crack 100K in chips. Pokerdream08 now has 104,409 in chips.

6:16pm--Under 4,000 players

The final table is only minutes away...

5:59pm--No mercy for GS4fun

After doubling through GS4fun a few hands earlier, Isabelle Mercier tangled with GS4fun again. Mercier called GS4fun’s pre-flop raise to 1,200, and the players saw a board of 8d-4h-Qd. GS4fun bet another 1,200, Mercier raised to 4,000 and GS4fun re-raised all in to 17,325. Mercier made the call with Ah-Qc. GS4fun’s Kh-Ks was ahead on the flop, but the Ac on the turn gave Mercier two pair. GS4fun could not hit a king on the river to survive. Mercier now sits at 39,375.

5:58pm--Lee Nelson takes a hit

Team PokerStars Pro Lee Nelson just lost about 40 percent of his chips. After sneekwater raised to 1,800, Nelson re-raised to 4,200. Sneekwater called and the two saw a flop of Ad-9s-6s. Nelson pushed and sneekwater called all in for 6,500 with Ah-Qh while Nelson showed Jc-Jh. The turn and river were bricks and Nelson was down to 17K.

5:54pm--Third of field gone

We're now under 5,000 players. Just a few more hours until the final table...

5:45pm--Mercier outraces GS4fun to double up

After a raise to 1,200 from GS4fun, Team PokerStars Pro Isabelle Mercier re-raised to 4,000. GS4fun re-raised all in to 20,250, which had Mercier covered. Mercier made the call with As-Kd and was racing against GS4fun’s Qc-Qd. On a board of 8d-Ad-7c-Js-7d, Mercier survived elimination and chipped up to 18,800.

5:41pm--Top ten chip counts at end of hour number one; 5,688 remain

9. pokerdream08 46,000
10. krazy28 44,712

5:34pm--Queens hold for Akkari again

Pocket queens have netted Andre Akkari another large pot. Pre-flop, porzerjr raised to 1,200 and Akkari re-raised to 3,300. Porzerjr made the call. On a flop of 7c-8c-5c, porzerjr bet all in for 3,775 and Akkari called. Porzerjr showed Ks-Qs to Akkari's Qc-Qh. The turn and the river were no help for porzerjr, and Akkari chipped up to 21,275.

5:28pm--Victor Ramdin eliminated

Victor Ramdin was felled by an inferior flush. He raised to 900 preflop and was called by rtrtrtr. After a flop of 6d-4c-5c, Ramdin bet another 900. Rtrtrtr raised to 3,000 and Ramdin re-raised all in to 7,000. Ramdin held 3c-6c for a pair, straight draw and a straight flush draw and rtrtrtr held Ac-8c for a better flush draw. The Kc hit the turn, leaving Ramdin with two outs to the straight flush but the Kh hit the river and Ramdin was eliinated in 6,000th place.

5:24pm--Team PokerStars represented

Of the 7,557 players participating today in the Sunday Million, seven of them are Team PokerStars pros. They include Andre Akkari, Humberto Brenes, Isabelle Mercier, Lee Nelson, Steve Paul-Ambrose, Victor Ramdin and William Thorson.

5:21pm--Ramdin's rollercoaster ride

Short-stacked Victor Ramdin doubled up to 9,350 when he got it all in preflop with Ad-Jc versus Ts-Th and the board ran out Kd-2c-Qh-5c-Ah, but lost most of those chips on the next hand. In the second hand, he held 7d-8d and called two bets on the flop and turn with a board of 5d-4h-7c-Js. When the Tc hit the river, both Ramdin and his opponent, S4ILBO4T, checked. S4ILBO4T showed 7s-Ks and won with his kicker. Ramdin is down to 5,300.

5:08pm--Andre Akkari doubles up

Team PokerStars Pro Andre Akkari started the hand as a short stack with 3,925. Akkari raised to 600, niclas237 re-raised to 1,500 and Akkari pushed all in. Niclas237 made the call and tabled A-K. Akkari showed Q-Q. Niclas237 did not improve on a board of J-T-9-5-J. Akkari currently has 8,050.

10:14pm-- Incredible call nets Supa4real the win!

On the heels of the unusual pre-flop re-raise from goodvibe1, both players limped into the pot and took a J-4-J flop. goodvibe1 checked, then raised to 1.6 million after Supa4real bet 500,000. With plenty of ammunition, Supa4real called and went to the turn.

When the turn came down the nine of spades, goodvibe1 again checked. Perhaps sensing weakness, Supa4real took another stab with a bet of 1.6 million. goodvibe1 instantly check-raised all-in for a total of 7 million, putting Supa4real to the test. He made the call and opened Qc-4d for two pair, jacks and fours(!). goodvibe1 was on a draw, albeit a very large draw with Kc-9c. The river blanked out, allowing Supa4real to win the pot and the whole tournament.

A full recap of the final table can be found HERE.

10:13pm-- Times-a-changin'; Supa4real takes over chip lead

A rare preflop reraise just backfired for goodvibe1. After Supa4real opened for 1 million, goodvibe1 re-raised to 2.8 million. Supa4real called, then moved in on the Td-Qh-6d flop after goodvibe1 made a half-pot bet. We could only imagine the sigh of frustration as goodvibe1 folded his hand.

10:12pm--Wanna play heads up for $30,000?

Just in case you're not paying close enough attention, what we're witnessing here is essentially a $30,000 heads-up sit-and-go. Not that there is anything wrong with that. First place is $101,250. Second place is $71,250.

10:08pm-- Not much movement

After ten minutes of heads-up play, little has changed. Supa4real briefly threatened to take over the chip lead by winning a series of small pots, but goodvibe1 sniffed out a bluff and made a great river call with top pair to reset the chip counts to what they were ten minutes ago.

9:58pm--Heads-up chip counts

Here's how the two remaining players stack up at the start of heads-up play.

Seat 1: goodvibe1 (22882846 in chips)
Seat 3: Supa4real (13107154 in chips)

9:54pm--And suddenly, it's heads up

Supa4real must have been tired of watching goodvibe1 take all the chips. After goodvibe1 came in for a raise, Supa4real re-raised. He couldn't have liked it when Dudelinio came over the top all-in for 3,850,648. Supa4real had to call 2,040,648 more and did so after goodvibe1 folded. Dudelinio showed Ac-Qc to Supa4real's Ah9h. Say goodnight, Dudelinio. The board showed 6c-2s-9s-5h-Ad. Dudelinio won $48,750 for third place.

9:51pm-- goodvibe1 barrelling towards the finish line

Just five minutes after turning down a chop, goodvibe1 eliminated another of his opponents. Sitting in the big blind, he called a raise from the small blind, tallgeir. The flop was 3c-Ks-9c. tallgeir led out with a half-pot bet of 750,000, but goodvibe1, with a commanding chip lead (and, we would soon discover, the best hand), raised to 1.5 million. tallgeir called, then led out for 750,000 again on a blank turn. A raising war ensued, with tallgeir eventually all in. He showed Qh-9s for middle pair and was in rough shape against goodvibe1's top pair with Kh-8d. tallgeir missed the river and was bounced in fourth place, earning $38,625.

9:50pm--No curse yet for goodvibe1

Goodvibe1 has silenced any silly talk about the no-chop curse. He just busted vanky. Goodvibe1 came in for a standard raise with JcJs and vannky came over the top all-in with Qs-Ad. When you're running good, you're running good. Goodvibe1's race was a winner on a ten-high board. Vanky finished in fifth place for $30,750.

9:46pm--goodvibe1 must be feelin' it

Five-handed is often the place you see a talk of a chop. The story is no different tonight. Goodvibe1 wanted none of it.

Supa4real: we could look at the numbers
goodvibe1: no chop sry
vanky: ok

And that's that. And so the players commenced with re-raising the chip leader.

9:40pm-- Dudelinio finds gold with suited connectors

With five players remaining and 2.5 million in his stack, Dudelinio opened for 750,000 holding 8h-9h. The big stack, tallgeir, threw his weight around holding A-T and raised enough to put Dudelinio all in. Dudelinio called and promptly flopped top two pair, which held up through the river.

9:38pm-- Chip counts at break
Level 33
Blinds 125,000/250,000, antes 25,000
Average chip count: 7,198,000
Players remaining: 5
First Prize: $101,250.00

Seat 1: goodvibe1 (9716470 in chips)
Seat 2: vanky (6464280 in chips)
Seat 3: Supa4real (9176506 in chips)
Seat 4: Dudelinio (2602824 in chips)
Seat 5: tallgeir (8029920 in chips)

9:30pm-- goodvibe1 takes out lordhuttyx

The good times kept on rolling for goodvibe1. lordhuttyx open-shoved with pocket sevens, only to discover that goodvibe1 was sitting on pocket jacks, an easy call. The jacks held up, bouncing lordhuttyx from the tournament in 6th place with an extra $23,250.

9:28pm-- RuudGullit can't overcome domination

With fifteen big bets left in his stack, RuudGullit open-shoved Ad-6h from the button. goodvibe1, sitting in the small blind with 4.5 million, elected to call with Ah-Js. He was in a dominating position that was quickly reversed on a 6-K-9 flop. Perhaps channeling his screenname, goodvibe1 found a good vibe when the turn came Jd. There was no re-suck on the river for RuudGullit. He was eliminated and earned $15,750.

9:20pm-- lordhuttyx's ace almost isn't enough

With just 1.5 million chips, lordhuttyx has been tight, choosing not to tangle with most of his opponents. When chip leader tallgeir open-shoved from the small blind, lordhuttyx took a chance with Ah-3c. He was ahead of tallgeir's Qh-6c, but it looked like disaster when the flop came 5-Q-5. An ace on the turn bailed out lordhuttyx and allowed him to double up to 3 million.

9:14pm-- EDWARDHOPPER goes broke in 8th place, and not in a pretty way

EDWARDHOPPER, the man of all caps, had 1,721,407 to start and open-raised to 398,000. Vanky pushed all-in and got the fast call from EDWARDHOPPER's KdKc. Vanky held Ah-2s. Wanna guess what the board looked like at the end? We'll just tell you...5c-3d-9h-9s-4h. Not pretty, not funny, but decidedly the end for EDWARDHOPPER. He picked up $9,750.

9:07pm-- GB2005 unlucky in 2008

We have the first elimination of the final table. With blinds at 80,000 and 160,000, tallgeir opened from the button for 640,000. GB2005 quickly reraised all in with the hand that many players dread -- ace-king. tallgeir, with chips to burn, made the call and showed two live suited cards: Qs-8s. Neither player improved by the turn, but on the river GB2005's tournament ended when tallgeir paired his queen. With that pot, tallgeir moved to over 10 million in chips and GB2005 was eliminated in 9th place. His payday was $6,750.

9:03pm--Final table set

The final nine are in place. Here are the chip counts.

Seat 1: goodvibe1 (3125226 in chips)
Seat 2: vanky (3620984 in chips)
Seat 3: Supa4real (6992395 in chips)
Seat 4: Dudelinio (3842824 in chips)
Seat 5: tallgeir (8572505 in chips)
Seat 6: GB2005 (1103480 in chips)
Seat 7: lordhuttyx (2034545 in chips)
Seat 8: EDWARDHOPPER (2634407 in chips)
Seat 9: RuudGullit (4063634 in chips)

9:01pm--tjechw bubbles final table

It was a good call with a bad result. It was an all-in raise to tjechw's big blind. He made the call with two black fives and was up against AsJs. Needless to say, he lost the race and went out in 10th place for $4,500.

8:55pm-- Connolly the latest casualty

Short on chips, Connolly moved in for 1.5 million with a small ace. He was called by tallgeir who had a bigger ace and finished with a flush. Connolly never improved and was bounced from the tournament in 11th place, $3,150 richer.

8:53pm--p0ck3tp3ar goes to war without pocket pair...or pear

With only 808,000 in chips left, p0ck3tp3ar open-raised for nearly all his chips and got re-raised by vanky. He called for the few thousand more with Ah-7d. Vanky held 9c-Ac. Neither hand paired and vanky's kicker played. p0ck3tp3ar finished in 12th place for $4,500.

8:52pm-- CASINOICE iced

lordhuttyx was behind when all the chips went in the middle, but his cards were suited and live. Both players hit the flop in a big way, with CASINOICE flopping two pair. Unfortunately for him, his two pair made the nut flush for lordhuttyx. CASINOICE ha d two chances to fill up, and missed them both. He was eliminated in 13th place and earned $3,150 for his efforts.

8:49pm--RUS_FISH hooked and fileted

With only 724,024 chips in his stack, RUS_FISH cast his last lure with Ad-4d. RuudGullit took the bait and call with Jh-Kd. RUS_FISH was cooked by the turn on a board of 8s-Ts-Qd-9h-2c. He finished in 15th place, picking up $3,150.

8:42pm-- sebmenk find no love with the ladies

sebmenk found exactly what he was looking for: Qc-Qh. He came in for a raise to 300,000 and Supa4real came back at him for 800,000. The rest of sebmenk's 1,638,288 chips went in and it was the pocket queens vs Ah-Jc. The board was not as pretty as sebmenk's hand. It rann out 2d-Jd-Ks-4d-Ad to eliminate sebmenk in 16th place for $1,875.

8:40pm-- nafudoma loses battle of the blinds

nafudoma must have felt good when he moved in his whole stack of 1.7 million from the big blind after tallgeir opened the action from the small blind with a raise. Things went south for nafudoma from there. tallgeir called with Ad-Tc, which dominated nafudoma's Ac-9s. He took the lead on an 8-9-K flop, but the turn and river were a queen and a jack to make a straight for tallgeir. He eliminated nafudoma in 17th place and cracked the 5-million chip mark at the same time.

8:37pm-- tdomeski crippled, then eliminated

Two tough hands in rapid succession resulted in the elimination of tdomeski from the tournament in 18th place. First, he called the all-in bet of lordhuttyx, who had pushed from the button with pocket eights. tdomeski's Kd-Jd took the lead when the flop came K-J-T, but an 8 on the turn made a set for lordhuttyx. Neither player filled up on the river.

That left tdomeski with just over 100,000 chips, which went in on the next hand after a raise by Dudelinio from late position. Dudelinio's pocket nines were well ahead of tdomeski's 6c-4d, and even moreso when the flop came down nine-high. Although tdomeski ended the hand with trip 4s, he couldn't top Dudelinio's full house, nines full of fours.

8:33pm-- webster426 86'd

With fewer than one million chips, webster426 shove with K9 offsuit and got called by AhJh. A flop with one ace and two hearts was all he needed to see. He was eliminated in 19th place for $1,575.

8:31pm-- oknergard out in 20th

tallgeir raised to 240,000 from the hijack seat, and oknergard, sitting to his left, reraised all in with his remaining 720,000-plus chip stack. It folded back around and tallgeir called, showing Kd-Jd. oknergard showed Ad-8d.

The flop was Qs-10h-3c, and oknergard was still ahead, but tallgeir had a lot of outs. One came on the turn -- the Ks. And the Ac on the river sealed it, bouncing oknergard in 20th place. tallgeir is up to 3 million.

8:29pm-- Cruel river sends Se7enTr3y home in 21st place

GB2005 raised to 180,000 from the cutoff, and Se7enTr3y reraised all in for a total of about 543,192 from the big blind. GB 2005, having about 1.4 million behind, made the call.

Se7enTr3y showed 8d-8c, and GB2005 turned over Ac-4h. The flop and turn -- 9d-2s-9h-10h -- were fine for Se7enTr3y. But the Ah on the river stole it away, knocking him out in 21st place.

GB2005 is up to 2.2 million.

8:26pm-- PyroWalter flames out in 22nd place

A bit of a cooler for the flame thrower PyroWalter. After nafudoma had raised to 240,000 from middle position, PyroWalter reraised all-in for his remaining 1,396,996 chips with Jd-Jc. But an instacall from Supa4real from the big blind -- who had him covered -- spelled trouble.

nafudoma folded, and Supa4real turned over Ad-Ah, well ahead of PyroWalter's jacks. Neither player improved on the 3h-3c-7h-Qh-6d board, and PyroWalter’s flame was extinguished in 22nd place.

8:19pm-- Sticky situation for stiCKypiFF14

stiCKypiFF14 open-shoved a stack of just over 400,000 from middle position, and Supa4real, having about 1.38 million when the hand began, made the call from the small blind.

Supa4real turned over 4d-4c, and probably didn't mind one bit seeing stiCKypiFF14 show 5d-3c. The board came Ks-8d-6s-2s-7d, and stiCKypiFF14 was bounced in 23rd place. Supa4real now has 1.88 million.

8:12pm-- Pocket pairs continue to be good for p0ck3tp3ar; iapetus out in 24th

With just 313,747 in chips and the blinds & antes climbing fast (currently 30,000/60,000 plus 6,000), iapetus made a move for the blinds from middle position, shoving all his chips in with Kc-8s. p0ck3tp3ar gladly called from the small blind with Td-Th.

A board of 7c-2s-Jd-9c-Ad sent iapetus home with $1,575.00 in 24th place.

8:09pm-- taktloss overrun by tjechw's pocket rockets

taktloss47 was eliminated in 25th place after getting it all in with Ac-Qd only to be up against tjechw's As-Ah. The aces held, and tjechw is now up over 3 million.

8:06pm-- blokwillem eliminated in 26th place

vanky pushed opened by pushing all in for 311,000-plus from late position, and blokwillem responded by reraising all in for just over a million from the button. Supa4real thought about it for a moment, then called the reraise from the small blind, leaving only 16,000 or so behind.

supa4real: Kc-Ad
vanky: 9s-Ks
blokwillem: As-Qc

The board came 2h-9c-5c-4h-4c, giving vanky the main pot of just over one million and Supa4real the side pot, pushing his stack to 1.48 million. blokwillem is out in 26th place.

8:01pm-- Louise6 finds no flush, and no more chips

Louise6 fought the good fight after being crippled on a rivered set of eights previously by webster426. But, blind steals only work if no one calls, and with 404,212 chips left Louise6 shoved with Ad-5d UTG only to have RuudGullit waiting on the button with As-Ah.

The pocket aces held up on the board of Tc-9c-Js-Jh-5s sending Louise home in 27th place.

7:55pm-- 27 remain

There are currently 27 players on three tables. The next nine players to be eliminated will each receive $1,575.00. WiLDmAn75 is our current chip leader with 3.09 million. The average stack size is just over 1.33 million.

7:51pm-- There exactly four aces in the standard deck of cards

Se7enTr3y checked his hole cards to find black aces -- As-Ac -- leaving two more in the deck. So when p0ck3tp3ar re-raised his UTG bet, the sounds of fireworks may have gone off in his head.

Unfortunately, the boom of the explosives was reduced to whistling in the air as p0ck3tp3ar turned over the red aces -- Ah-Ad. A little excitement on the flop of 6d-3s-2s, giving Se7enTr3y outs to a four-flush, but the turn of 6c meant they chopped up the two-million chip pot and went back to work. Se7enTr3y has about 1.5 million, while p0ck3tp3ar has about one million.

7:48pm-- WiLDmAn75 goes wild, man

WiLDmAn75 just took a 2 million-plus chip pot when his pocket jacks held up against both Duka333's 7c-7h and Preußenhusar's Kd-Ah.

WiLDmAn75 had both covered, so Duka333 is out in 31st, Preußenhusar is out in 30th, and WiLDmAn75 is near the top of the leaderboard with just over 2.8 million.

7:44pm-- End of the road for engels23

engels23 open-raised to 111,111 from the cutoff, and tallgeir reraised all in from the big blind with his stack of 1.1 million-plus. engels23 had about 475,000 behind, and made the call.

tallgeir showed Js-10d, and engels23 turned over Ad-9s. The board came 8d-10c-8s-9d-7h, and engels23 was out in 32nd place. tallgeir is up to 1.7 million.

7:37pm-- Million is now the norm

With 33 players left, the average chip stack is now at one million chips which will buy you about 11 orbits. Or, if you happen to bust suddenly, places 28th to 36th are scheduled to receive $1,425.00 for their six hours of work today.

Team PokerStars Pro: Steve "stevejpa" Paul-Ambrose eliminated in 43rd place ($1,350.00)

7:21pm-- Paul-Ambrose out in 43rd

Team PokerStars Pro Steve "stevejpa" Paul-Ambrose open-raised all in with his last 243,761 from the cutoff. Then sebmenk reraised all in with his stack of nearly 450,000 from the button. Both might have been surprised to see Se7enTr3y make the call from the big blind, leaving 344,330 behind.

Se7enTr3y: Ah-Kh
stevejpa: 10d-8d
sebmenk: Ad-As

Not the best spot for Paul-Ambrose. The board ran out 3s-2d-5s-7d-Qh, and sebmenk's aces held up. Paul-Ambrose is out in 43rd, while sebmenk moved up to 1.15 million.

7:15pm-- Make that a THREE million-chip man

With the blinds at 15,000/30,000 with a 3,000 ante here in Level XXIV, Oknergard does it again.

This time Oknergard took two red bullets -- Ad-Ah -- up against the former chip leader toweliestar’s red ladies -- Qh-Qd. The board came 4h-Jc-3s-Js-5h and Oknergard took the massive 2,133,122-chip pot, moving him up past the three million-chip mark.

7:12pm-- 45 players remain

We're down to just five tables. The average chip stack is approaching 800,000. At the moment, everyone is guaranteed at least $1,350.

7:04pm-- Oknergard first to two million chips

We're still in Level XXIII. The table folded around to big-stacked oknergard who minimum-raised from the button, prompting lordhuttyx to fold from the small blind fearing strength. But Turob thought otherwise and pushed over the top from the big blind with his remaining 488,758 chips. Oknergard could not call the push quickly enough as he turned over Ac-Ad, well ahead of Turob's Kh-Qd.

The board of 2h-3c-Ah-8d-9c meant Turob's day was done, and gave oknergard the chip lead, making him the tournament’s first two million chip man.

6:59pm-- Six players at the million chip mark to start Level XXIII

60 players remain as we begin Level XXIII. The pre-flop pot now holds 57,500 chips as we start the blinds at 12,500/25,000 with a 2,500 ante. nafudoma, oknergard, EDWARDHOPPER, letontondu64, tallgeir, and Pyrowalter are all sitting on a cool million to start the new blind level. Steve "stevejpa" Paul-Ambrose is treading water around the 300,000-chip mark, roughly half of the 600,000 average chip stack.

6:52pm-- Gambolllll

Chips are flying back and forth as we find ourselves down to just 65 players. Another eyebrow-raising hand just took place over on Table 367.

Dsavo, sitting with over 900,000, open-raised to 51,500 from the cutoff. blokwillem then reraised to 160,000 from the small blind. The BB folded, then Dsavo pushed all-in and blokwillem called with his remaining 300,000.

blokwillem: As-Kd
Dsavo: 5d-7s

The board ran out 6c-8h-6h-3c-Qc, and blokwillem claimed the nearly one-million chip pot.

After the hand, swishes2000 typed "gambolllll" from across the table. Dsavo is back down to 457,901.

6:48pm-- Chip leader toweliestar aces cracked, still looking for 6th street

His avatar shows “6th Street,” but unfortunately for toweliestar hold'em only has five community cards.

After having recently taken over the chip lead, toweliestar called p86ba’s 30,101 raise from middle position, and oknergard did the same from the small blind. After a flop of 9c-8c-2h, p86ba checked and toweliestar bet 111,111. Then oknergard shoved his remaining 590,602 into the pot, getting p86ba to duck for cover.

toweliestar instacalled the push, turning over a slowplayed Ac-Ah, but oknergard was well ahead with a flopped top set of nines. The turn Qd and river 5s shipped the hefty 1,320,210 pot to oknergard and left toweliestar with 717,478.

6:36pm-- Tdomeski does double duty with aces

A three-way all-in on table 126 had short stacks tdomeski, plasticard, and LUFCBas all shoving their below par stacks into the middle pre-flop:

Tdomeski: As-Ac
LUFCBas: Kc-Kd
Plasticard: Ah-5h

A cooler for LUFCBas and no flush or trips for plasticard as the board came Qh-7c-8d-Ts-8c. tdomeski rises above the average stack of 400,000, now having 450,674 after the hand.

6:27pm-- New chip leader nafudoma applying pressure

New chip leader nafudoma has been demonstrating his willingness to use his big stack to apply maximum pressure. A recent sequence of five hands went thusly:

1. caalling raised to 43,000 from middle position, nafudoma reraised to 115,000 from the big blind, and caalling folded.

2. nafudoma folded his small blind to a button raise.

3. nafudoma open-raised to 46,000 from the button, taking the blinds.

4. Crowdog49 raised to 45,000 from UTG, nafudoma reraised to 150,000 from the cutoff, and Crowdog49 called with his last 100,000-plus chips. Crowdog showed As-9c, and nafudoma Ah-Js. A nine flopped, and Crowdog49 survived.

5. nafudoma open-raised to 45,000 from the hijack, traveller469 pushed all in for just over 90,000 from the small blind, and nafudoma called. nafudoma's Ac-10c outlasted traveller469's Kd-10h, and he'd knocked out another opponent.

nafudoma currently has over 1.3 million in chips.

Team PokerStars Pros:
Steve "stevejpa" Paul-Ambrose 409,761 (28th place)

6:08pm-- 132 remain

We're now down to 132 players as we begin Level XX. Blinds are now 6,000/12,000 with a 1,200 ante. The average chip stack is just under 280,000.

EDWARDHOPPER and vidal14 continue to trade the chip lead. Both are nearing the one million-chip mark. And with his recent double-up, Steve "stevejpa" Paul-Ambrose has climbed back into the top 20 with a little over 430,000.

Those lasting into the top 117 will all guarantee themselves a payday of at least $1,050. Not a bad return on their $200+$15 investment, though many still have that $101,250 first prize in their sights.

5:58pm-- Steve Paul-Ambrose eliminates Da_FoRcE16, doubles up

A fairly quiet Steve "stevejpa" Paul-Ambrose over the past 30 minutes has suddenly come alive. After Da_FoRcE16 raised pre-flop to 26,000, Paul-Ambrose three-bet to 80,000. Da_FoRcE16 wasted no time to get his remaining 185,462 chips into the pot, but wasn’t as excited when the Team PokerStars Pro called with 34,037 chips behind and flipped up Kc-Kh to his 5c-5d.

No presto magic for Da_FoRcE16, as the board came 3c-Th-6c-9c-8d. Ambrose is up to 480,000 in chips while Da_FoRcE16 has been eliminated in 159th place.

5:45pm-- vidal14 gives up chip lead, but his hair still looks good

We are in Level XVIII, with 22 tables and 196 players left standing. With blinds at 4,000/8,000 with an 800 ante, several players are taking their chances pre-flop given the sizable 26,400-chip pot sitting in the middle for a blinds thief to take.

The chip leader is now EDWARDHOPPER after vidal14 lost a pre-flop battle versus dappadan777. vidal14 held Jd-Jh, and dappadan777 Qs-Qh. The board came 6s-3d-Tc-8s-Ks, and both players are now hovering around the 400,000-chip mark with the blinds changing to 5,000/10,000 with a 1,000 ante in two minutes.

5:33pm-- The old suck-resuck

sebmenk, flirting with the top 20 with nearly 300,000 chips, raised to 18,000 from early position, and it folded around to ben81000 who shoved all in for nearly 100,000 from the small blind. sebmenk made the call.

sebmenk: Jd-Jc
ben81000: Qs-Qc

The flop came 8c-9c-Kd, and ben81000's queens were still ahead. But the Js on the turn gave the lead to sebmenk.

However, the 10c on the river saved ben81000, giving him a king-high straight. ben81000 has 213,908, while sebmenk has slipped to 198,143.

5:29pm-- More winners lining up on the leaderboard

Another big PokerStars MTT winner has slowly crept into to the top ten in chip counts. Halfrek has taken down the Tuesday weekly $1,050 buy-in MTT -- good for $66,600 -- and also has several cashes in the Sunday Million and Sunday Million Warm-up. He currently stands in sixth place with 320,860 in chips.

5:18pm-- Play for more next week in the Warm-Up

This just in to the PokerStars Blog: Next week's Sunday Warm-Up will have a $1 million guarantee. It will also be a Second Chance tournament. So, all players will have an opportunity to rebuy once in the first two hours.

5:09pm-- Definitely not one-hit wonders at the top of the leaderboard

The top of the leaderboard is currently riddled with past Sunday Million and Sunday Warm-up final tablers. AA_Legend (currently 3rd) took sixth in the Sunday Warm-up last month, Dsavo (currently 4th) walked away with third in the Sunday Million on July 1st, and current chip leader vidal14 won a $215 rebuy and add-on tourney just two weeks ago.

5:06pm-- Set over set helps vidal14 cross half-million mark

vidal14 minimum-raised to 10,000 from under the gun, and A6540 called from the cutoff. The flop came 2h-Jc-5c, and vidal14 bet 35,000 into the 32,000 pot. A6540 raised to 70,000, and vidal14 quickly pushed all in. A6540, having just 33,680 left, made the call.

A6540 had 5h-5d for a set of fives, but vidal14 had Jd-Js for the better set. The turn was the 3c and the river the 6d, and A6540 hit the rail. Meanwhile, vidal14 is our new chip leader with 582,599.

4:48pm-- Steve Paul-Ambrose, still not showing his cards, moves into top ten

Despite the presence of the second-highest stack of Da_FoRcE16 at the table, Team PokerStars Pro Steve "stevejpa" Paul-Ambrose is racking up the most chips whether its pre-flop or on the river.

Without even showing his cards, the applied pressure to his tablemates has grown Paul-Ambrose’s stack to second overall. With blinds now at 2,500/5,000 with a 500 ante, Paul-Ambrose took down yet another pot, this time from Da_FoRcE16. With a board showing 7h-9h-Js-8d-2c, Paul-Ambrose bet 38,000 into a pot of 77,600, and Da_FoRcE16 folded.

4:43pm-- Grinder out

With blinds of 1,500/3,000, Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi shoved his remaining 16,000-plus in the middle and was called by misterkoen3. The Grinder showed Ah-Qd, not a good hand to have against misterkoen3's Ad-Kd.

The board ran out 3d-8s-9d-5d-3d, and The Grinder is out in 451st.

4:39pm-- The bubble bursts

Midway through Level XIV, the money bubble has burst with uncledrkmeat being eliminated in 541st. As expected, the eliminations came fast and furious afterwards, with nearly a hundred players going out within the next ten minutes.

4:29pm-- Hand for hand

541 players remain, which means play is now hand for hand until the money bubble bursts. After that, expect an avalanche of eliminations, as the next 117 players to go out will all be receiving $375.00 for their efforts today.

4:26pm-- The Grinder, many others, sitting tight

Just ten spots off of the money bubble, and it appears Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi is sitting tight.

The Grinder had taken a hit earlier when his pocket sevens failed to improve against alonso88's pocket queens. That hand knocked him down to just over 30,000. Then, in the last hand before the most recent break, he lost a race with Ac-Qc vs. a short-stacked iecavniex who held pocket eights, leaving him with just over 13,000.

After the break, a fortunate hand from the big blind in which he flopped trip tens got him back to 24,000, and he's been quiet since then, apparently looking to make the money.

4:21pm-- YEBOBOZ rushes his way into the chip lead

On back-to-back hands, YEBOBOZ eliminated three players. The first came against j.thaddeus and BrandanZ as the three players shoved pre-flop for a massive 250,000 chip pot.

j.thaddeus: Kc-Ks
BrandanZ: As-Ah
YEBOBOZ: 7d-7h

YEBOBOZ still had over 45,000 in chips behind after all the chips went into the middle pre-flop, but he would be getting a whole truckload back as he flopped his set of sevens as the board ran out 7c-4h-Qd-Tc-8c.

Just to make sure he was the new chip leader, on the very next hand YEBOBOZ battled with tylen after a flop of 7d-4d-6c came out with all the chips going to the middle for a total pot of 149,194.

YEBOBOZ: Ac-Qd
Tylen: Kd-Td

Tylen could not connect with his flush or pair draws, and YEBOBOZ now has a 100,000-chip lead over Da_FoRcE16.

Katja Thater eliminated

3:57pm-- Thater out, TuneEmUp movin' up

Down to just over 20,000, Katja Thater pushed all in from the button with Ad-5s, and was called by TuneEmUp who held Ah-9h in the big blind. The board ran out Kh-9s-8h-5c-Qh, and Thater is out in 673rd place.

TuneEmUp is now up over 145,000.

3:54pm-- Can’t keep up with Steve-Paul Ambrose

Wow, my head gets turned for two seconds and the Team PokerStars Pro doubles up yet again. With blinds at 1000/2000 ante 200 and facing a 6,000 chip UTG raise from Erdnase, Steve-Paul Ambrose re-raised all-in to 38,425 total. Everyone else got out of the way and Erdnase made the call with the last of his 29,224 in chips.

Erdnase: As-Qh
Ambrose: Ad-Kd

The board ran out 6c-3h-Ah-Th-7c giving Ambrose nearly 80,000 in chips and in fine shape to make a run deep in the money today.

3:47pm -- Money bubble on the horizon

As we approach the three-hour mark, we're down to 770 players. The money bubble will be coming into view before too long, as the top 540 finishers get paid.

3:45pm-- Steve-Paul Ambrose rolling along by not showing

Team PokerStars Pro Steve-Paul Ambrose is doing just fine while picking up the 3,600 in chips in the pot preflop during Level XI’s 750/1500 blinds with 150 antes. He has nearly double up to 30,175 in the last orbit without even showing his cards.

3:40pm-- New chip leader has track record

If you're following the chip movement in the Sunday Warm-Up, you'll see a familiar name atop the leaderboard. Current leader usourcek has a Sunday Million win to his credit. In February, usourcek won $155,000 in the Sunday Million.

3:38pm-- Huge pot for usourcek, new chip leader

usourcek raised to 2,920 from UTG, and Eeedz reraised to 5,900 from middle position. A short-stacked MisterTBH pushed all in with his remaining 3,899 and the table folded back around to usourcek who then repopped it to 26,995. Eeedz four-bet all in -- a total of 115,617 -- and usourcek pushed his remaining 67,577 in the middle, making the call.

The total pot was 195,743 -- possibly the largest of the tourney thus far.

usourcek showed Ad-Kh, well behind Eeedz' Ac-Ah. MisterTBH meanwhile was hoping his 9h-9d would get him the small main pot.

The flop was Qd-10s-2d, and Eeedz remained ahead. The 6d on the turn gave usourcek a few more outs.

Then the river brought the Js, giving usourcek the Broadway straight and a boost all of the way to the top of the leaderboard. MisterTBH is out, and Eeedz has fallen all of the way down to 21,045.

3:26pm-- Tall stacks don't faze The Grinder

2Much$4U_08 opened with a raise to 3,299 -- a bit above the size of the pot -- from under the gun. Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi called the raise from UTG+1, as did carolusXX from the big blind.

The flop came 8h-2s-Ah. carolusxx checked, and 2Much$4U_08 bet the unusual amount of 5,999. The Grinder thought a moment, then put his own tall stack out to make the call. carolusxx folded.

The turn was the Jd, and both players quickly checked. The river brought the 6s. After some thought, 2Much$4U_08 bet out 10,999, and The Grinder quickly called.

2Much$4U_08 showed 10h-Jc for a pair of jacks, and The Grinder Ad-Qd for aces. The Grinder is up to 94,233, while 2Much$4U_08 falls to 29,991

2:59pm-- Lady Maverick runs into rough waters and is out

With the antes starting on level VII and blinds at 400/800/50, Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Rousso used a little pressure and got squeezed on back-to-back hands. Rousso re-raised all in pre flop for 29,862 chips after posting the big blind and facing a three times the big blind button raise from Veg101 and a call by Klanfear in the small blind. Veg101 got out of the way, but Klanfear made the call all-in with Kc-Qc leaving Rousso with 7,825 behind.

Reluctantly, she turned over Qh-3d, the board ran out 6c-Qs-9s-4h-Kd giving Klanfear 48,474 in chips.

After a blind steal on the next hand, Rousso found herself outkicked with Ad-3s against the table chip leader, Veg101’s Ac-6c. With no help on the board Lady Maverick is out.

2:58pm-- River saves Thater in three-way all-in

The antes have kicked in here in Level VIII, so at nine-handed tables there's 1,750 in the middle when each hand begins. In this one, FranckZ shoved all in for 14,019 from UTG, and P0lak called from middle position, leaving 10,481 behind. It folded around to Katja Thater in the big blind who pushed all in for a total of 14,375. FranckZ called the few extra chips, making the pot 43,619.

The players' hands...

Katja Thater: Kc-Ks
FranckZ: Qd-Jh
P0lak: Ad-Kh

The flop came a tantalizing Ac-10c-Jc, giving P0lak the advantage. The Qs gave POlak Broadway, but FranckZ still had outs to a full house, and Thater her flush draw.

The river was the 2c, giving Thater the flush and the pot. FranckZ is out, and P0lak has slipped to just over 10,000.

2:40pm-- 1,600 remain

Action began with a short-stacked wizard123abc pushing all in with his last 3,341 from early position. david0603, who had nearly 30,000 when the hand began, called from the hijack seat, and Sunset King, who had just over 60,000, also called from the big blind.

The flop came 5c-3d-5h. Sunset King checked, david0603 bet 7,000, and Sunset King called. The turn was the Jc. Sunset King again checked, and david0603 shoved his remaining 19,000-plus in the middle. Sunset King instacalled, showing Ad-5s for flopped trips. david0603 had 9h-9d for two pair, and wizard123abc was drawing dead with Qs-Tc.

The river was the 10h, and the Sunset King had knocked out two opponents. With that hand, he overtakes the chip lead from Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi, moving up to 95,079.

2:17pm-- No Repeat for GrtWhtHype

Last week's Sunday Warm-Up champ GrtWhtHype has been eliminated. Down to just 4,420 in Level V (blinds 200/400), GrtWhtHype pushed all in from the button after rnoord had raised to 1,200 from middle position. The blinds stepped aside, and rnoord made the call.

GrtWhtHype held 10d-9d, and was thus far behind rnoord's Kh-9h. The board ran out 6d-2c-Ad-Jh-7c, and GrtWhtHype is out. rnoord currently has 11,480.

Chip leader Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi limped in from early position, wolf1864 called from the button, Rockiesbiker completed from the small blind, and a short-stacked Lokern, down to 6,250, probably didn't mind seeing the flop for free.

The flop came 7c-5d-3s, and lokern bet 800 into the 1,600 pot. The Grinder called, and the others folded. The turn was the 7s. This time lokern bet 2,000, leaving himself just 3,450 behind. The Grinder again called.

The river brought the 4c. lokern pushed his remaining chips in, and The Grinder didn't hesitate before calling. lokern showed 9s-4s for a pair of fours (and busted flush draw), while The Grinder showed 6h-4h for the flopped straight. lokern is out, and The Grinder continues to move up. He now has over 76,000.

2:11pm-- Set versus the flush draw, Ambrose nearly doubles up

Steve-Paul Ambrose just found the double-up he needed. With 5,000 in the middle before the flop, Ambrose set out a 2,800 chip bet on a flop of Qc-7s-Js against RACE18. RACE18 met the bet with an all-in push of 5,800, Ambrose called leaving 4,275 behind.
RACE18 flipped up As-6s for the nut flush draw and Ambrose flopped a middle set of jacks. The seven on the turn filled up Ambrose and left RACE18 drawing dead. Ambrose now has 20,875 in chips.

In Level II (blinds 50/100), GrtWhtHype raised to 255 from UTG. wojna987 called from the cutoff, as did sevenspades from the SB. The flop came 3h-8h-Qc. GrtWhtHype bet 555, wojna987 called, and sevenspades folded. The 7h came on the turn, putting a possible flush on board. Both checked. The river brought the 2c, and GrtWhtHype bet 725, and wojna987 called.

GrtWhtHype showed 3c-3d for the flopped set, and wojna987 mucked.

GrtWhtHype sits with about 11,000 at the moment, just a bit above the starting stack, while wojna987 has slipped to 7,000.

1:32pm-- Aces cracked

ChipLieder00 raised to 200 from UTG, then tmoneyy reraised to 564 from middle position. Four others called, including geirto from the button, making a pot of 2,870.

The flop came 6h-8s-Jc, and tmoneyy led out for 2,200. geirto called, and the others got out of the way. Both checked the 3d on the turn. The river brought the 6c, pairing the board. tmoneyy bet 3,900, leaving himself just 1,779 behind, and geirto, who had tmoneyy covered, promptly raised all in. tmoneyy made the call, showing Ad-Ac. But geirto had Jd-Js for jacks full, knocking out tmoneyy and claiming the 18,000-plus pot.

At the time, that pot put geirto over 20,000 and near the early chip lead.

1:15pm--Vanessa "LadyMaverick" Rousso hits early

Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Rousso has started the day nicely. Just one hour into the tourney she has already chipped up to 32,925 chips after a quick double up and taking out sambr when the money went into the middle on a 2s-6c-2d flop, she pushed sambr all-in holding 3s-4s and sambr leading with Ac-7c, but a 4h on the turn and 8c on the river send the chip to LadyMaverick good for a top ten spot on the earlly leaderboard.
